WARHAWK's Review of the Gillette Guard
« on: May 01, 2013, 09:00:34 AM »
Hello fellow chrome domes:  I hope all is well with you & your families.  With all the talk of the Gillette Guard having a reputation as a good head shaving tool,  I have been test driving the GG for the past week on my head shaves.

Does it give a good head shave?  Yes, it does and  (as a former Fusion & Hydro5 head shaver until I discovered the DE/SE world on April 2012) I would place the GG above the expensive Fusion & Hydro 5.  The best cartridge razor is from India & not the USA.  The GG is hands down better than the Fusion, Hydro5, Mach 3, and all other carts and disposables that I have used in the past.  Plus the price is wayyyyyyy cheaper than the Fusion, Mach3, and Hydro5.  You can get a great deal on Ebay.  It is from an international seller but it is worth the wait.  If you don't wanna wait you can purchase the GG on vendors:  WestCoastShaving or the ItalianBarber.

Is the GG better than a DE or SE razor???  NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!  It does not compare to my DE and SE razors.  I get better results with the traditional way of shaving.

Will I keep my GG razor?  Yes. . . I will.  Just in case. . . if I don't have time for a nice, soothing, relaxing, spa-like face & dome shave.  So. . . if you are in a hurry (and don't have time for yourself) than the GG is your head shaving razor.  But if you want a better & more rewarding head shave than I would go with a DE or SE razor.

The Fusion blades are ridiculously super expensive. Just wanted to give this thread a friendly bump... there are a lot of cartridge head shavers and I thought you may want to read my Gillette Guard review.  As most of you know, I love the traditional way of shaving and will never go back to the cartridge razor but on those very very rare occasions where I do not shave my dome with a DE or SE razor then I will use the GG.
