Blade for shavette
« on: April 30, 2013, 10:12:50 PM »
Hi. I recently bought 2 shavettes on eBay & now I can't find blades to fit. The blade holder/inserts have holes that look like a dovo long blade will fit but the holes don't line up. Neither the personna blades nor regular DE blades fit either. I asked the seller for advice but was told the shavettes are 'rare' & will be hard to find blades for (thanks buddy). If anyone has any ideas, I'd appreciate it. Thanks guys :)

Hey Raulski,

That Shavette wont take standard DE blades. You will have to source it from the manafacturer of the particular brand.

What brand is it?

No brand name in English. A few characters on the handle but I don't even know what language, let alone what it says.
I've searched the web & asked the sellers. No joy.
Anyhoo. Whatareyougonnado?

Have you looked at both Kai and Feather Blades?

Does the razor have to have holes that line up like the shavette itself or will a razor without holes work?

The Parker Shavette I have can use DE blades that have been snapped in half.

I tried DE blades as well as the 2 types of long blades. The blade does need holes & the holes are a particular distance apart that excluded all of the blades I tried.
I searched google images for anything that looked like it would fit and after thousands of pics, still no dice.
I'm starting to lose hope. Thanks for all your suggestions.

The solution lies in the black plastic adapter. That is what determines blade size.

You have the large black one. They also come in red and green. I believe it's the red that fits DE blades cut in half.

Try Straight Razor Designs. Last I checked, he carried DOVO shavettes with all 3 adapters.

I finally found blades that will fit. I had to purchase another shavette from eBay but this one comes with a box of blades. They're in the mail :)
Fingers crossed they actually give a decent shave...
