Definitely go ATX, it's far more user friendly IMO. I started with a sport but every time I ever cut myself it was with the sport and I have yet to cut myself with the ATX.

ATX all the way mate! Far easier to use I think!

Sport all the way if you want a close shave. ATX is probably "safer" but it leaves a lot behind.

G'Day Frangi mate
I use the ATX with the 6 Blade and I love it, gives the smooth as a baby's bum shave.
Easy to use, no worries!!

ATX all the way, I use a four blade and I have actually compared it to the fusion power and the Mach 3 and there was no comparison. The ATX was well above both in ease of use and how well it easily shaves the hair with little resistance or irritation. Also I have not cut myself once with the ATX. Get Headslick as well

The Sport works better for me. I think that the "wheelbase" on the ATX is too long to get into some of the valleys on my skull.

None of the above
I like to use a whole different razor set up entirely.
Also, nice to see a hockey player here. Just a warning, your helmet is gonna feel weird the first time if you haven't shaved totally smooth yet

First of all welcome to the site. A year ago when I started shaving my head, I got the Sport as that was the latest thing they had. Have had an ATX for about a month. Bottom line for me- ATX shaves very smooth and will not cut you but I am finding it misses spots and then I have to touch up with Fusion. Sport could nick a bit but I did not have any spots that it missed. Your question reminds me of my present dilemma.

For those of you who say the ATX leaves spots behind, check out the video I made describing my method for using the ATX (
http://www2.slybaldguys.com/smf/index.php?topic=20695.0
). Try my method and you'll never need a 2nd razor to touch up and you'll be BBS.

I started shaving last week and I used the ATX. I think since I hadn't ever used the Sport, starting with the ATX was VERY natural. I've shaved 5 times since and never nicked myself once with the ATX. I also go to town and am not very careful. I have to shave certain spots repeatedly but using the HB6 cartridge has given me zero irritation. I have pretty thick hair around the crown of my head, and until today, I couldnt get a perfect shave on some spots.
The secret for me was, don't be afraid to lift the wheels off your head. I lifted the wheels and shaved those tough areas perfectly with no cuts or irritation.
If I were you, I'd try the ATX with HB6 blades if you haven't used another HeadBlade razor yet. It is essentially foolproof, and has a more natural feel with an easy learning curve.
