Thanks for the great post, Paul! Clips like these should be required viewing for all Americans!  But, hey, there is a lot of easier/funny/untasteful clips all over that get more hits and news coverage for some reason...

Thank you for that Paul, I just posted a reply on here about keeping our lives in perspective.  My son is in the 10th mt infantry division, patroling the streets of Bahgdad.
He is in a section where the living conditions are pretty crappy, but he rarely comlains. all he asks for is support and not to be forgotten.
He recently came home for 18days and the first thing we did was go to the mall and get him some street clothes so he didnt have to play soldier for those few days.
He was treated like a rock star at the mall, folks coming up to him asking him what it was like in Iraq, and he would tell them.."you dont wanna know".
He has seen dead babies with bombs inside them, and things that most 20yr olds will never see, he has been blown up 3 times, lost his best friend who saved his life while pulling him (unconsious) from a burning humvee, and countless other friends and thats just what he shared with me, he protects me from the worst of the details.. and that was just in the first few months. He has told me.."mom, I could die over here, Ive come to terms with that, if its my time to go then Im ready, Ive found God over here"...
Its quite sobering to hear things like that from your "baby".. he is my hero and my idol, I tell him I want to be like him when I grow up.
Anyways, guess I just needed to share that, but yes, it is hard when they come home, quite a shock from what they get used to, they need our support while there and when they get home. Let us never forget why we get to have the freedom to complain about our little problems here.
If youre not living on the edge..youre taking up far too much room.

Amen, Barberette.  Thanks for the reality check and thanks for the sacrifices you and your son have made to keep our country safe.

Paul-

Thanks for sharing a great video.

A big thanks to all of you men and women in the Forum who  have served in the Armed Forces so that I and my family can have the freedoms and good lives that we have.

And a very special thanks to all the men, women and families of this Forum who love our soldiers personally and allow them to be a part of all our lives.... even though many never realize it. Thank you.

That bro was a good reminder!  It's easy to lose perspective sometimes.  :-[

Man Paul, that video always makes me wipe a tear from my eye. I will never forget those that served with me and did not come home.
