Letting the beard grow...
« on: February 17, 2013, 03:25:30 AM »
So I was thinking of letting the beard grow out last year until an unfortunate trimming incident. I think now is the time for an attempt at a bigger beard. I am going to let it go for a bit... haven't got it to 4 months before so that is the target at the moment

Good luck to you!  I enjoy my DE, SE and straight shaving too much to even try, although I did manage a week once.  The itchiness made me feel dirty! ;0)

So I was thinking of letting the beard grow out last year until an unfortunate trimming incident.

;D Not just me then who's had an "unfortunate trimming incident", I went to do mine down to 18mm on the cheeks, the attachment on my trimmer slipped mid tidy up and I had an inch long 6mm patch!! So the whole lot went down to 6mm all over, quite a change!!

Mind you I've been keeping it short (about 9mm) since and quite enjoying the change, I'll grow it long again but maybe not till next Autumn!!

Growing a beard and letting it come into it's own can be a very liberating experience.  From what you've shown you could really have a really great large beard--and what better time of your life to see if it's something that you enjoy--because like the shaved head, it's only the 24/7 guy's opinion that counts.  Enjoy the journey--and keep us posted.  Great start!

Having had a full bears for 20 years, I went to a goatee a few years back. It was getting too gray with my hair too. Now that I'm sly I have kept the goatee- tyro to color it to avoid total gray. If I could have color to my beard, I would now grow it back fully o go,with my shaved head. Anyone have thoughts?

Welcome back F77! I'm glad to see you are still keeping up with the beard. As I've said all along I think you'll rock the longer beard. I'm approaching the 4 month mark now myself on the sides.

Going to avoid the urge to trim and see how a bigger beard looks. As you can tell I have been thinking about this since February but finally made the decision that it might be time to try for an epic beard. Have been inspired by some of the other beards on here....let's see how things go....
