The other day I was watching a shaving video and the person in it whipped up some Proraso lather and then added a little bit of C. O. Bigelow. The result was a VERY creamy lather. I don't currently have either of the soaps he used but I knew I had to try it.
This morning I loaded my brush off of a puck of Tabac soap and got a lather started with then. The I took the only non-solid shaving soap I had (HeadSlick) and added a squirt of that to the lather. I whipped the lather a little more and the results were nothing short of amazing! It was almost to the consistency of Cool Whip - very thick and creamy. The shave was equally amazing. I can't remember the last time I had a shave that was this close and with so little irritation.
I only tried it on my face but tomorrow I'm going to try this on my head.
Great stuff, it's generally known as a super lather!
I have got great results with it in the past, MWF and Proraso is a pretty awesome combo!
That's a good idea, I've still got some headslick I'll add it to my lather tomorrow as I'm down near the end of my current puck and I'd like to finish it completely before starting a new one.
I did that once with an arko shave stick & some proraso cream. Also excellent results. Don't know why I haven't done it since. Thanks for reminding me
Nice! Im glad it worked out for you.
I picked up some Glycerin today. I'm going to try to make some "uberlather" tomorrow.
It pays to experiment,
I use a shave stick/soap for my head then I add dollop of shave cream to the brush and proceed to my face.
I mix up the combinations of soap to cream but no matter what I try I always get a good lather and a great shave.
Cheers,

Even though the lather was nice and thick when I added the Headslick to the soap, the shave wasn't as smooth.
To me, it seems like the common denominator is Shave Secret, no matter which soap(s) I use and/or mix. As for Headslick, I think it's just one of those products whose effectiveness is weakened when used with something other than Shave Secret.
