I definitely shave every day. Shadow is unavoidable with darker hair but a lightly tanned head and shaving with and then against the grain seems to be what what people on the forums say is the best way to deal with it. Welcome to the group / forum!

Likewise, I shave daily to avoid the sandpaper texture. But it's a matter of perspective -- it's part of my ritual that I look forward to rather than dread.

Color will develop (even with a little sun) ... just takes some time. And, truly, no one else really cares.
