Got a gash on the dome...What to do???

Took the kids to the water park tonight.  My son was fooling and around and I ended up with gash on the very top of my head from scraping the bottom of the pool.  Had to go to first aid and they put some liquid bandage on it.

It still smarts.  Probably not going to shave the top of my head for awhile.   Anyone else ever do anything really stupid like this???

I was broke and trying to use a razor that i had been using for about 6 weeks, well it might have been a scapel as i took a strip of skin about 2" of my scalp. I did't think it would ever stop bleeding, so for about 4 weeks after not only did i have to wear a baseball cap when i went out but every time i shaved, i had to shave round the scab that had appeared! Hope my advice helps.

i took a strip of skin about 2" of my scalp.

I did something similar, took a 1" long strip out of my skin one of the first times I shaved the head.  Nasty.

I keep making it worse because I keep shaving.

I need  to chill out and not shave for a week until it heals

You can always shave around it and do an electric on the area nearest the wound.

Ive cut my head good a couple of times shaving and here is what I do. I take a cold washcloth and dab it repeatedly until  it stops bleeding.  then I keep at it while i finish shaving and showering.  i cont with the cold water cloth while i get dressed.  by that time, the bleedng has stopped for good.  the next  day, when i'm shaving, i carefully place a finger over the cut so i wont shave over it until last.  i shave around the spot until last and then geeeennnntly run the razor over it.  it may be a little rough for a couple of days until it heals completely.
