Worried about the shape of my skull
« on: January 15, 2013, 03:05:44 PM »
Hey guys, I'm sort of concerned about my skull shape. I did some Googling about skull/head shapes and this site came up a lot, so I figured I'd ask you all. I'd appreciate any honesty.

I don't actually think I'm balding, I've had an acquaintance tell me I have very little hair, I've had a barber tell me I have a ton of hair, so whatever, but I buzzed my head down with a #1 the other day just to see how it'd look and I think my skull is sort of misshapen.

Here's a pic of the side profile. At least it's symmetrical.

I feel like it looks kind of weird. What do you guys think?

Your head looks fine you have nothing to worry about.  O0 Are you going to shave it down more or shave it all off with a razor or nothing at all?

I'm done buzzing it for a while, I really like it this length and I think it fits me pretty well although my head shape gets to me a bit.

To be honest I can't tell if my hair is thinning or not; I kept tabs on it for two years and noticed no (or very little) change so I buzzed it to see how it'd look if it ever came down to it, sort of as an experiment. It was like 4-5 inches long before this.

I think you guys have the right idea, I think buzzing/shaving is the only way to go if you're losing your hair.

Head looks fine to me mate.

Every head is different so 'normal' is a relative term!

Your head shape looks to be well within the bounds of "normality". I reckon that it would look good bald but it also looks good as it is. The really short cut suits you.

At least you now know that shaving it all off will be no problem for you -- no future hair and baldness worries for you, you lucky fella.

Welcome, JT! Your head shape looks good to me, but if you ever go sly, your head would look great IMO

you look great with short buzz - keep it that way and then one day you will just shave it and love it also.  It will just be you.

Welcome.
You've got nothing to worry, it's normal!
Weather you chose to shave or not, or just go even shorter (different clipper setting) it's up to you.

Thanks for the replies & welcoming.

This site has a lot of interesting information and insight on it, a lot of which doesn't even apply to grooming. There's some good stuff here on how to simply be a better man.

I'm starting to come to terms with my skull shape, it seems to look better/worse at different lengths, such as a fresh #1 or #1/2 actually looks better on me than a #2 in my opinion. Anyway I love my hair like this so I don't think I plan on changing it unless I get some really weird looks when the semester starts. In all honesty, who cares.

My dad and a friend mentioned my skull has a dent in it, which it does, but I'm starting to think that isn't a rare thing although mine seems to be a little bit more pronounced than some others.

I have a dent too.  No big deal though.  O0

Hey, JT.....We all have things on our head that we tend to wish that wasn't there...but at the end of the day it's those same "flawed" characteristics that make our head uniquely ours. Only people with no life will be that observant about dips and dents in a man's head....
