Hey guys. I am a newcomer to canada, and have had a really hard time getting a barber to give me a really short buzzcut/burr cut. I am S L O W L Y making my way to being totally sly; but am trying to go gradually to the skin, with shorter and shorter buzzcuts. The barbers here (small town in Sask prov.) do not seem to know what a "#2 " or #1" means. they just give me very conservative (i.e., not radically 'to the skin' ) buzzcuts . Any of you canadian sly guys got any insights as to how to get the haircut I want . ? John

Take it all down the skin as close as you can with the clippers and blame it on the barber. Say he cut your hair too short. Then after a couple of days you can say that you kind of like it that way. You'll be on the cusp of sly by then and it should be relatively easy to go all the way in the near future.
I used to visit my barber every 2 weeks but then decided to take matters into my own hands. It's a lot easier, not to mention cheaper.
Hey JohnMont, that would be a great excuse to use on your wife. I'm going to save money by doing it myself. Then one day, 'oops, I put the wrong attachment on. I might as well just shave it all off since I goofed.'
When I first decided to go sly or near it.. I went and purchased a clipper... comes with all att. and one day I took #1 off and buzzed it off.. heheh and said to my wife oooops I didn't take the proper one.. .. so from that day I started shaving.. you can get a clipper for 20$... worht it..
