NHIS ... once nice feature of this board is that you can change your screen name in your profile. So you don't have to be NHIS forever.

For example, you could be

>> No Harm In Sly <<

... Oh, wait, that's just the same :-)

That said, I'm at a strange point in the journey to baldness. I'm yet to go sly and I know I eventually will, but until then I've chosen to wear my hair short and forget about it. After all, I can't see my hair unless there's a mirror in front of me (hence my screen name), so it's easy to do. As a result I've made various observations that surprise me: Firstly, I like my receded hairline and I think it's dignified (as do a lot of people, so I guess it must suit me) and it's gotten to the extent that I'm sad it won't stay that way forever (strange, right? I guess it's because I never had good hair before it receded anyway). Secondly, I'm the only one who cares that I'm going bald and even women that seem to be interested in me don't seem to have noticed. Thirdly, though I was horrified when I first noticed my hair thinning all those years ago now you eventually get used to the idea because you have to!

Exactly. From the first person perspective we don't see our heads at all [maybe just a pink cloud or two where we imaging our noses to be]. When we rely only upon our own experience not only can we remove all our head hair but we can decapitate ourselves totally and live a much happier life.

Have a look at http://headless.org/ although I suspect that you've already been there.

Haha. Cheers. I'll see how it goes. I don't mind thinking people are talking about the NHS, though I may start to wonder why people keep discussing medicine when they're talking to me (just in case, NHS = National Health Service in the UK, though I doubt I need to tell you that). Unless it gives me a complex along the lines of "why do people think I need to see a doctor everytime I speak?"

Cheers Gary. I've seen that site before, but perhaps I should take a closer look..

This site is awesome so I didn't want to moan everywhere, which is what seems to happen on every other site on baldness I could find (I don't know how anyone could feel good about balding by joining them - every other post is about baldness being ugly and it being the end of the world - stupidity!)
Welcome, you're home.  You've said in other words what has been said here in many places, by many guys, and not a few of the fairer sex, in other ways.  The other sites often have a profit motive in mind, they want to sell you their "cure" (a word I really dislike because it's essentially dishonest).  SBG doesn't sell anything to cover, treat or change the baldness for guys with mpb.  Granted you can buy one of the T-Shirts or other items--but they celebrate baldness.  Those sites just forget that a guy once he thinks about it just a little realizes that compared to Jesse James, these so-called support sites are just in essence dishonest thieves looking to take your money for drugs, rugs and surgery for plugs.  The only difference is that Jesse James had a gun!  They use guilt and attempt to degrade you as a person if you chose to accept a genetic predisposition that's not an illness or deformity by any reasonable definition.  That's dispicable--but it's a free economy.  The only regret at this point that I believe you may feel once your move on over to Sly will be that you waited so long to do it.  And that money those bandits would have taken, several nice dinners, dates and other pleasures with your chosen partner!  And, you can take that to the bank literally & figuratively!  Now ask the thieves if they can give you that assurance. ;D

Agreed. As someone that never had any intention of hiding the baldness or taking anything to reverse it, I dound those sites very unhelpful.
