Does HB Clear Head work?
« on: September 02, 2013, 11:09:02 PM »
So thanks to the input from you gentlemen the ingrowns on the back of my head are healing. I'm having another problem though. I'm starting to get them on the sides and top of my head now. I know I should give it a few days or a week and let it heal. And I know I should be shaving with the grain. The back of my head, fine. But the top? Sorry, I love the smooth dome too much to go with the grain. I can't stand the feel of hair on my head so I need to shave it at least every other day. But back to the ingrowns and bumps. I've heard the marketing on clear head. But does it work for clearing up and preventing them? I love my smooth head too much to settle for mediocre shave.

I personally have found that it works wonders. I honestly can't see myself without it.

When I shaved for the first time, I didn't have any issues with razor burn or ingrown hairs. The second day, I decided to have another shave... Probably a bad idea, as my scalp reacted with MAJOR burns, cuts, and bumps. It was pretty gnarly. Having done some research prior to all of this, and being a recently recruited HeadBlade fanatic, I knew I wanted to try ClearHead. A couple of days later, it came; my initial burns, bumps and cuts were still quite visible.

After one application, the next day, it was easily 95% gone. There was still some initial sensitivity, but, I was able to shave once again!

If ever I have any issues with bumps and burns again, I use two specific things; this little item called CellFood, and ClearHead. No issues whatsoever. I HIGHLY recommend both CellFood and ClearHead.

Word of warning, the ClearHead does have a relatively nasty kick when you apply it to badly burned areas. But, it's quite rejuvenating!

I found less is more with my dome. Using all these lotions and clear heads and such would cause my sensitive skin to be irritated. I just top my shave off with Jack Black oil control lotion for a nice matte look and a less oily day.

The cheapest I have found it is through Amazon. Make sure to get the gel, as they have a liquid based product as well.

Another thing for irritation and razor burn is  warm, non-iodized sea salt solution (1/4 tsp to 8 oz. water).  If you don't feel like measuring, H2Ocean spray is the same thing in pre-packaged form. (The  amount of salinity is important so measuring is key.)
For ingrown hairs: Emu oil-yes like the bird from Australia. It really works well, but be sure to get the really refined stuff. I have a source in Colorado I could post...now where is that link. If you're vegetarian or opposed to animal products, jojoba oil works too, but not as well IMHO.
