How does your significant other respond to your facial hair
« on: January 04, 2013, 02:13:29 PM »
To those of you with facial hair I am curious as to how your significant other responds to it. My wife :@` likes the look but does not like the feel of it.

Life has three aspects: Paradox, Humor, and Change.

Paradox: Life is a mystery; don't waste time figuring it out.
Humor: Keep a sense of humor, especially about yourself. It is a strength beyond all measure
Change: Know that nothing stays the same.

My partner has a beard and I like the feel of it, though when he trims it, it can cause a hell of a stubble rash!

He likes it on me when I dont shave

Wifey loves it! She calls it my "mane" when I grow it longer.  O0
Sometimes I ask her if it's weird to be kissing someone with hair all around their mouth, but she insists it's awesome. I consider myself lucky in that dept., cuz lots of women don't like men with lots of facial hair (from what I've seen/heard).

Mine doesn't like it long at all--but then she never said she liked it short when it was.  Now she points out short beards and says they look nice! :D :D  Go figure.   But, during the Christmas holiday parties she was pretty miffed about the compliments I'd get, like the one from a woman who said I looked like I ought to be marketing Schweppes Tonic Water & I took that as a definate compliment. ;D  I just handed her a fresh Old Fashioned.
I think the feel issue is answered if you let the beard get a little longer, about 3/4".  Anything shorter can irritate skin I think.
We'll see how things go if I can get it out to the point I can tie it up like Rusty Shakelsford does, then I can have it long when I want, like riding my motorcycle, and she can have it short when I tie it up.  I think I've got about 2 to 3 weeks until I'm going to be there.

My wife loves the VanDyke, but is not a fan of a full beard, but is tolerating it.  I think she may be liking it more now because every once in a while I catch her playing with my beard.  They do get softer after they grow out more...especially compared to the scratchy stubble.

Wifey loves it! She calls it my "mane" when I grow it longer.

"For God wished women to be smooth, and rejoice in their locks alone growing spontaneously, as a horse in his mane; but has adorned man, like the lions, with a beard, and endowed him, as an attribute of manhood, with shaggy breasts, a sign his of strength and rule." St. Clement of Alexandria (A.D. 195)

Well, the girls say it, those speaking for God say it... guys should grow beards, who are we to argue?

The girlfriend hates it when my goat starts to get long. When it does, she starts pestering me to go trim the dead cat on my chin. She's definitely not happy that I'm working on a full beard now, and has threatened leaving me single if it gets out of control. Well, that's a risk I'm willing to take for an epic beard so..

I'm lucky my wife doesn't care weather I have a beard or not. Hair on my head or shaved slick bald it is all the same to her. She said why would I care  I never look at ya!   :@`

My upper lip hasn't seen the light of day since 1977. My chin has only been seen sporadically for short times since then (I will occasionally do the fu-manchu biker 'stache for short periods).

My partner would completely freak if I were to shave everything off. He's not even a particular fan of the biker 'stache. He prefers the van dyke or full beard.

I feel the same way about him.

My wife isn't a massive fan of he current moustache.

She keeps pestering me to grow a beard again, however when I had the beard grown out to about 8cm length she didn't like it either ???

My wife likes the Van Dyke. I've been wearing it pretty much non-stop for 7-8 yeas now.
