Hey guys, I don't post often, but would like to talk to you about something. I am 23 years old and first shaved my head age at the age of 17. I kept it shaved for a year and have been shaving on and off ever since. I love beeing bald and shaving, but always end up growing my hair back for some reason (interviews, dating, hard to maintain). I now have 1.5 inches of hair and want to shave, but it is always hard for me to shave after it's long. I want to be sly long term. Any advice?

Hmm, those strike me as reasons
not to grow hair back! Why not look your best?

Be sure to buzz it down as closely as possible beforehand.
I want to be sly long term. Any advice?
To be honest, if it's what you really want to do, just get off your ass and do it. Nothing's stopping you but
you.

The reason I grow my hair back is people tell me I look better with hair and only get hit on with hair. I love the bald look. Guys don't seem to love me bald.

Listening to what other people want rather than what you want is not the path to happiness.
And, you're dating the wrong guys. I can tell you that even at 55, if I were not already partnered, my dance card would be more than full.

J. M. Keynes said, "In the long run we are all dead."
On the way, do what you think is best for you.
Hair? Buzzed? Shaved?
Ming suggests lather, razor, and bald.
In a hundred years? "All new people."
I won't be here; you won't be here.
Live for the moment.

Once you feel you 'have' to to do something, you shouldn't. I used to shave every now/then w/o maintaining any one 'look'-I got tired of not being able to settle on one thing. So, now I shave every other day -sometimes daily, because it makes me happy. At first, family/relatives would make comments such as 'you look better w/hair' & such, my self-esteem would get worse, I would start to feel self-conscious..now, I don't care (as much) and realize it's my happiness, not their's. Once you start living for yourself, not for others you'll be better off. I found out the hard way & it was many years of frustration.

If you are allowing others to control you (appearance, behavior, friendships) then you are not being true to your own self.
You need to take control, and be in control of your life. Live it the way you wish as long as it doesn't hurt others and isn't illegal.
I know several young bald guys who have no trouble getting dates with really fine gents. It's not bald that makes the difference, it is their confidence in themselves.
Get rid of the hair (if that's what you prefer) and get yourself a big dose of confidence. You'll be just fine.

Exactly.

The relationship you want is one where you're afraid to be yourself? Think about that.

If you aren't getting dates because of your hair, or lack there of, you are chasing the wrong people IMHO.
If you wanna shave it then do it!

Doomed to failure. Just a matter of time.
If
you are not comfortable being
yourself ... then any relationships you establish are based on a false image. Put yourself in the other guy's position --- you're interested in someone and then you find out the person you are interested in isn't the
real deal. And there are a lot of guys out there who invest a lot of time/energy/money in presenting themselves as something they are not.
How would you feel? And how motivated would you be to continue the relationship?
Personally ... and it took a long time to figure all this out ... I am exactly what I appear to be. If someone is interested they know exactly what they're getting. If they're not interested that's OK too ... move along so I can meet "Mr. Right" who is just a bit further down the line. I am not worried about "missed opportunities" with the wrong person./i]

So guys, I realized that you ere right and the right guy will come along who loves me completely for me. I buzzed my hair no guard for the past three weeks and plan on shaving bald tonight. I missed the feel and look and it feels natural. I have a date with a guy tomorow and my profile pic on the site where I met him shows me bald. Hopefully it goes well. Thanks guys for convincing me to shave again.

If you can grow your hair back why not have it longer sometimes and shaved other times. A change is as good as a rest as they say
