So what did you score for Christmas ?
« on: December 25, 2012, 01:58:18 PM »
I got a great video of my grandkids opening up presents, and finding a box that had books of Disney world.  And they thought how cool.  And then they were told to look certain places in the books.  I have 1 granddaughter that just turned 14 and two grandson's one 12 and one 10.  They found out on the 31st that they were flying out to Disney World.  Wow the screams  ;D ;D my grandsons haven't flowen before.  The youngest one asks if he has to fly over the ocean ?  And then they all called me and thanked me for the money I had sent them.  Made my Christmas.  When you see happiness it is all good.

Now I will buy my gift ! HO HO HO !

I honestly wasn't expecting any presents this year, when my sister gave me this big clock with a license plate motif on it. I have vintage license plates on display in my office/computer room (among things.) The one that had me the most surprised was when my manager gave me a two reversible scarves, which are really nice. I cannot wait to wear one of them on Sunday.

There was a very nice CHristmas morning here at the Koz house. I received very nice gifts from my wife and kids.
Same at my brother's house this afternoon.

But the two greatest gifts for me:

#1) I looked down the pew during Church last night, just past my wife, and saw my two kids standing side by side sharing a hymnal and singing a Christmas carole with every bit of passion they had in their young hearts.

#2) My relationship with my 27 year old son has been a bit tense the last couple of years. Nobody's fault really... we just didn't really understand each other. Just after my Dad passed my Son, his fiance, my wife and I sat down and hashed it all out. Many tears were shed and everything was put on the table very openly. It was like a weight was lifted off all of our shoulders.
This afternoon he and his fiance walked into my brother's house and he immediately found me, shook my hand, and hugged me and said, "I love you Dad". I simply said, "I love you too".

You will have to post up a full review on the Bluebeard kit when you have had a good whack at it!

Yes, a review please. It looks positively dangerous with those skull and crossbones. Good name, good logo.

Well, I had 3 Christmasses! One with friends in a house we rented in The Lake District on the 25th, a family one on the 29th (love seeing my nieces unwrap their presents!) and then a third yesterday with my partner!

Here's a picture..eclectic!

Wow looks like you scored big Leigh!

I got a swag for christmas, which is something I've wanted for years. Can't believe I've waited so long to get one, I've given it a good work out already since christmas, with 2 camping trips already ticked off! It's really one of the best sleeps I've had camping...

I also got 70 dollars in gift vouchers from JB HiFi (music +home entertainment/electrical equipment store), and while they have one of the best collections of metal for sale in Australia, I really needed a new external hard drive, so that's what I got!

I also got 90 dollars of gift vouchers from my boss for our local hardware etc store, Bunnings. I spent 20 of that on a plastic tub for my 4x4 recovery equipment, not sure what to spend the rest on, walking into that place is like walking into a candy store...

A nurse who was taking my blood at the time and making small talk said 'And what are you getting for Christmas?'

I thought about it and said 'I don't need or want anything. That's a pretty good position to be in really isn't it? [after some reflection]'.

However, having given it further consideration, I have asked Father Christmas to deliver me a headblade sport with a pack of cartridges, 5 pots of head goo and a distressed baseball cap. If anyone here ever visits Tasmania and sees an old bald bloke in a headblade cap it will probably be me so say hello.

Gotta say, I ordered it at about midnight one night and when I logged on the next morning at breakfast time I already had an email to say that it had been posted and with a tracking number too -- great service.

Good one -- what a nice boss. I too have also wanted a good swag and probably before I cark it I should get one. I am wondering if yours got very wet from condensation -- the morning after you used it was it very wet inside and did it take a while to dry it out.

Years ago when I worked in the Northern Territory nearly all of my fellow workers [although not me because I didn't have to stay out overnight] used really good quality swags -- it was the only thing that seemed to last for years and years and also provide a really good level of comfort. Your swag is your best friend I reckon. That swag will probably last you the rest of your life.

I'm wondering if people here are thinking that I am being a bit verbose because I seem to be saying more and more as my typing becomes faster and faster. But, I'm just having such a good time doing it!
