Hey, fellas: As I may have mentioned in other threads, I underwent some surgeries in late 2011 and early 2012 to get boils and cysts removed from the back of my scalp. The surgeries were pretty much successful, however they left behind a few "puffy" scars. While I can live with a couple of "scratch marks", I would prefer the little lumps to just go away. Before I invest any money in umpteen creams and bandages or undergoing the knife again, does anyone have any suggestions on how to flatten scars and/or minimize their appearance. Thanks.
Bro. I would try Vit. E ointiment. It is OTC and has worked for me in the past with some bad a scars .
I actually really like Mederma advanced scar gel. It is not a real quick process but if you use it over the course of a few months like they suggest, it really does help the scar. My scar that I have on the front of my scalp is now completely flat. My wife was even amazed. Granted it did not stick up high to begin with but it was a very old scar(over 12 years old). And the old ones are the hardest to change so I was very impressed with the results. Your scars are relatively new so it would work for you even faster and better.
For some stupid reason I stopped using it recentely. Probably because I am so focused on my head shaving technique. But I plan to start it back up soon. I was making real good progress. You just have to be patient with the stuff.
I've heard that Cocoa Butter will help lessen scars but I don't know if it is in fact true.
