This is the text of a PM that I sent to my good Friend Kevin (npsbg) a few minutes ago. A little about this AM:
Round 1, Breakfast with Santa, is complete! What a great morning... the weather cleared just enough for me to ride the Harley Sleigh into the Fire Hall. The cheer that went up from the kids and parents when I pulled in with "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" blaring from the radio was awesome!! The kids came running up to me and we had photos right in front of the Harley.... just a great, spontaneous moment for the kids, the parents, and Santa.
Kids just amaze me..... I had one boy about 7 years old jump up on my lap. I asked him what he wanted and this is what he said:
"I only want two things for Christmas Santa"........ and then he paused for a few moments. And he continued, "Love and Family".
My eyes welled up instantly as I looked right at his Mom. I said, "Well I know that you have that already because I can see how proud your Mom and Dad are. Santa will have some special presents for you on Christmas".
Or the little girl... about 2 years old that dragged me around the entire Fire Hall by my finger and said to anyone that would listen, "This is Santa!".
A great morning! Santa will reappear at 6 PM at the Community tree lighting Ceremony!!
