I'm on day 9 of the 30 day challenge and am loving it - particularly the still surprising feel of a smooth cranium where once there grew hair. One discovery I made post-shave was the existence of a somewhat fleshy spot on the back of my head. I didn't think it was anything until I finally got a hold of a handheld mirror and saw it looks kind of bigger than I thought. So I did some research as to what it could be and I wonder if it's a pilar cyst - which is a benign thing that comes from the follicles.
Anyone have any experience here? I looked up how it would be removed and the videos on YouTube are more disgusting than I could have imagined, but that being said, I am considering seeing a dermatologist for some guidance. Removal of pilar cysts is considered cosmetic surgery, so I don't even know if my insurance would cover it, and since it's in the back of the head, I don't have to look at it too much, and maybe it lends some character to my skull for those who see me from behind.
I don't have any direct experience, but I certainly support your notion to check it with a dermatologist for confirmation and options.
Could you post a picture? I would get it checked just to make sure it's nothing more serious....

Great advice--if it's anything more serious, it's good that you found it by shaving and now you can have it evaluated. Sly has so many advantages!
