Bald brother to the rescue
« on: November 21, 2012, 12:58:10 PM »
Last night I stayed in a hotel as I was visiting another office this morning for a presentation. After having something to eat I decided to hit the sack.

At about 4am I woke up and needed the bathroom, so got out of bed and made my way to relieve myself. I was in the mode when you are not quite awake and are on auto pilot. I opened the bathroom door and stepped in and realised the bathroom door had closed behind me, except it wasn't the bathroom door that close behind me, it was the room door and I found myself in the  hallway.

Despite only being half awake at that point I was suddenly wide awake! I pushed the door and it was locked. I was locked out of my room. Obviously my screen name here gives you an idea what I was wearing - I always always sleep naked. So I was stranded and feeling foolish!

Now I have no problem with nudity but just felt stupid as I knew I had no other choice but to go to reception for another key. I walked down the corridor hoping no one would come out of their room or the lift. I was on the fifth floor so I wasn't sure whether to take the stairs or the lift but I decided I needed to get to reception as soon as I could. So I cupped myself in my hands and got in the lift.

As the lift door opened on the ground door, waiting to get in the lift was 2 guys and 2 girls that were shocked but then started laughing, probably in shock at the sight of myself naked and apologising!

I then walked to reception to find the night receptionist on, an american guy called Joe who was as sly as I was, although a little more fully clothed! He laughed and said I wasn't the first person to do it! He gave me another room key and I thanked him and he said "No problem us bald brothers need to look after one another" as he handed me his jacket to put on to go back to my room.

I dropped his jacket back shortly after (after putting a shirt and jeans on)but he wasn't at the desk or I would have asked if he knew of sly bald guys!

Great story.

Happens more often than one might guess.

Any pictures?  :-)   [Of the guys and gals, of course.]

Ha!  I've done it also...though I had a pair of boxers on.
People are not limited by the circumstance that they are born in. They are limited by the size of their dreams. Show them that their dreams can have no limits and in turn their accomplishments can be limitless.

Nope, I sleep au naturel as well.

I had a similar incident at Caesar's Palace in Vegas once... I didn't lock myself out, but the room key stopped working when I went down the hall to the vending machine. All I was wearing was a pair of gym shorts.

Had to walk through multiple casino halls chock full of people to get to the service desk.

P.S. Never, ever, ever stay at CP. Worst hotel I've ever stayed at. By far.

Great story and follow up posts...I never thought it was so common of an accident. I've thought about it laughingly and glad it never happened to me. I seem to have more problems than I should with card keys, too.

Wow...

I usually wear a pair of boxers to sleep, but will wear my birthday suit on hot nights.
