Hi everyone. I've been lurking on this board for a couple of years, but never created an account. I started shaving my head towards the end of college when I noticed my hair line starting to inch itself back. When I was 28 I thought I'd give laser a try. The girl that signed me up was confident it would only take 6 visits to eliminate my hair completely. So I went for it. Well after 6 visits the laser removed about 20 percent of my hair. I ended up going to 18 visits total and I was left with a miserable looking head. The only plus side was that a Patriots cheerleader ( in the off season) was the one that administered the laser blasts. I hate wearing hats, so I would shave my head in the morning and then again after work. It has been just over a year since I stopped getting laser and the hair on the sides and back of my head have grown completely back in.

I am really on here to just hear about anyone with a similar situation with laser not really working for them and to see what they plan on doing. I have thought about going to a dermatologist to get it redone instead of American Laser Center.

Many factors. Was the person competent? Did u have a lot of gray?

Why not just shave it daily?---cheaper, less pain, same look!

I was shaving daily and what caught my eye was that for $2,000 I could rid my scalp of all the hair and never shave again...or so I thought.

I did not have a single grey hair.

Welcome, Rich! I don't have any knowledge on laser treatments, but most dermatologists will help you if you suffered any skin damage from the treatments. Maybe if you're willing to risk some more money, give another laser company a try....but from some of the other stories I've read, lasering may not be worth the trouble (for me). Enjoy the forum and good luck with whatever you decide down the road.

ask fellow member COMMON, what he did.....There are others on here who have been successful removing hair.

Oh brother...two grand..my personal opinion is that it is a scam. I think Saint's idea is the way to go. Good luck Rich and welcome to the club.

Welcome Rich. Why not just shave it? It is cheaper and less painful. I enjoy my daily shaving routine.

Welcome to the family mate!

$2000 is ~11 years of cartridges if you spend $15 a month... that's insane If you took the other factors of razors, creams, after shave products... It would still equate to years of shaving costs. Just a little food for thought, I just like to see numbers when I think things through.

Lazer isn't a path I've considered going down, but as mentioned there are some people that have, I don't know how active they are on the forums, or who to direct you too anyway, but if you do a search on thwe forums you should get some answers

Welcome Rich, first of all, sorry to hear that it didn't work, I know that's a lot of money to throw down the drain. If you really want to go down the laser path, go to someone who will make you a guarantee before you pay, so that if it does come back, the onus will be on them. Good luck!

Rich, there have been several guys who posted about going for laser treatment and several seemed to be having success. As I recall at the end of the treatment, several guys had very fine hair that was easy to shave off.

Since your hair grew back, did you go back to the clinic to see if they would give you a refund or continue the treatments (although they may not be the ones you'd want to have doing the work again)?
