Odd Shaped head
« on: November 14, 2012, 08:29:13 AM »
Been balding since 17, shaved it low but clippers only go so far. Father shaves his head, I just think my head shape would look weird. I have a very profound brow, and an oval face and am very worried about my appearance. Just looking for some input here. Thanks in advance guys. Picture isn't exactly from the side, sorry..

Welcome to SBG !  At this point I would leave it alone at current blade setting.  If you want to try and shave it sly smooth -- for thirty days -- you might like the look and no more hairloss worries.  There is nothing wrong with your head / facial shape.  We all focus on wrong things about ourselves.  Focus on a clean shaven head.  Focus on your personality of happiness.  Don't focus on head / facial shape.  You already have perfection dealing with hairloss !

Perhaps you are being to hard on yourself. Have you thought about facial hair along with shaving? And good eyebrows are a keeper, imho. Best of luck.

Give it a try, if you don't like it you can grow it back....Why not ask your dad, since he shaves his head for some pointers....Better yet, get him to join SBG! ;D ;D On a serious note, good luck with whatever you decide.

You're nearly bald already. Your head just looks and feels better shaved!  Your head shape looks fine to me. Hope you go for a 30 day bald trial. You'll probably be a sly life-er.

Go for it.

To be honest, your head shape doesn't look too different from mine.

Go for it!

Your head looks fine to me, if you want to try out bald go for it. You are pretty much there alreaday and you will be back to the same point in a few days if you decide it isn't for you.

Your headshape is fine ! If you are curious to try out a shaved head do it. Like the others said you will be back to that length pretty soon.

I think you’re your own worst critic.
You are already using the clippers (probably no guard already) so shaving would be convenient.
The question is: what do you want to do?

Welcome FastBike,

So when I opened this thread I studied your picture before I read the text. My immediate thoughts were "he's got a great head for shaving" ... and after reading your text, I maintain that position still.

You certainly can stay "as you are" but I think you will feel better about everything if you shave it all off. Sly is so easy to maintain. Carefree to be sure.

And if you don't like it (after 30 days) you can let the hair grow back. But I seriously doubt you'll want to do that.

Do what feels right for you ... but you should have no worries about head shape or brows. You'll look good either way.

Keep us posted ...

Actually looks similar, not exactly the same, as mine I think (haven't seen it with short hair in a long time).
If you can't accept it, but I think it should be possible, what could help optically in your case imo is training your neck muscles for size, evens it out a little.

If you need guidance how to do it safely I can let you know how to start, we do that stuff quite regularly in wrestling.
