Electric Shaving well
« on: November 08, 2012, 03:09:19 PM »
Hi, in case of needing to get out of the house quickly in the morning, is there any trick to using the electric razor? I mean, do you have to press down hard, take it slow or fast? Input please.

C_J,  I have a Norelco triple head , that I used to use at times always got a burn on the neck with it , it took longer and didn't do near the job of a good HB, or Razor.  So if I didn't have time I left it alone until I could shave it right.   8)

I find that it actually takes longer to shave my head with an electric razor.

I nicked myself a couple of days ago, so I decided to use my electric shavers today.  I started with my Philips Norelco, and went over it again with a Panasonic.  My scalp stung, and a coworker asked me why I had let my cat scratch me up so badly.  Never again.  Only the blade in the future

I took a close look at my Panasonic ES-LT41 shaverand I am not surprised that I was all scratched up.  The outer foil has 6 holes in it.  I ordered it on July 3rd, 2012 from Amazon and I have probably used it only 6 or 8 times.  I phoned Panasonic Customer service to be told that the outer foil (Part # WES9087PC) is one of the consumable parts and not covered under warranty;  a replacement is available for $30.(available for$20at Amazon)

$30 to repair a $83.32 shaver that I have seldom used seems ridiculous.

I think that I will just pitch it out and bitch about it and the Panasonic warranty for years to come.  I have had many Panasonic items and this is the first and only bad one, but it only takes 1 rotten apple to spoil the barrel.

If anybody wants it PM me.  If you pay the postage it is yours.  For $30 you can buy new outer foil and inner blades so it would be in an "almost new" condition.

$5.35 will send it anywhere in the USA in a Priority Mail®Small Flat Rate Box

PM me if you want it

Not really the same question, but I didn't want to open a new thread for my question since it's very basic.

How should I cut my hair before shaving it off?
Down to zero with electric? (I remember to get a rash from using this method for trimming my neck hairs before.)
Or just use clippers?

Use clippers without a guard. Or is that what zero is?...

My mistake, I meant scissors and wrote clippers!  ;D

Zero it is then.
Does adding a little shaving cream do any good to avoid the typical rash from clippers only?

I wouldn't think so ... I'd just scissor/clipper dry hair. Others may advise differently (and I recommend you listen to them).
