I got it from my ______________
« on: November 05, 2012, 11:17:36 AM »
Hey SBG's.......Every one of my bald/balding friends (especially those with MPB) have a different story behind their baldness...Most say it was their dad, some say grandpa, some say they were just a victim of circumstance and others say that they're not balding, they just enjoy being bald...Looking back three generations on dad's side, my dad had all of his hair but had a quarter-size donut hole, my dad's dad was crown bald, and great grandad was a Norwood 6....So guys, if you have MPB (or even if you don't) whom do you think (or if you prefer, whom do you blame for it) you got your baldness from? Dad? Granddad? Just a victim of circumstance? Or you just enjoy being BBC? Thanks guys. (We were talking about this at work last night and I just wanted to see what you guys say)

My maternal grandfather is to "blame" for my MPB. He was MPB/bald for as long as I have memories of him. My father, his father, and his father all had decent heads of hair so it didn't come from that side of the family tree.

That being said, I do love being BBC and sticking it to Ma' Nature/genetics!
Life has three aspects: Paradox, Humor, and Change.

Paradox: Life is a mystery; don't waste time figuring it out.
Humor: Keep a sense of humor, especially about yourself. It is a strength beyond all measure
Change: Know that nothing stays the same.

Harry I believe mine is from my dads gene's .  And also some of my moms.  But I like the shaved head and even if I did have hair I would have proably had to shave it.  Once I did, I thought about going back to a head of some hair once.  I lasted for about a month.  Now I am SLY till Death !  It is only way to go.  O0 8)

I went bald due to a severe allergic reaction to general anaesthesia. I always had a high hairline but the only bald person in my family history was my paternal great grandfather.

been buzzing my hair since i was 17. although if i do let it grow, I have a receding hairline/widows peak going on if it grows back long enough. my father has got the classic bald patch top middle of his head and does the comb over. Tried to tell him a number of times he should shave it off but he won't.

HM, oh wait the Milkman was totally bald on top  .... :o  :*))
But seriously, there where a bunch of balding guys in the family on each side. Different patterns. Could be each of them or all together. The obvious happened , I'm balding too.

MPB rans very heavy in my family, especially from a young age. My maternal grandfather still has a pretty decent head of hair for his age though. But on my dad's side all my uncles are at least thinning, my dad is no exception and I tell him at least once a week that he should join me in slydom, but he is content with going bald naturally.

I "Doug" it...

GBG, That's one way of putting it, I guess he is just really badly thinning, it's not like he is receeding like me. But there is still looks like there is as much scalp then hair up top, I wonder if he is going to do a homer simpson... haha

I'm from a pretty long line of bald men on my Dad's side. My Dad sports the horseshoe as did his Dad. Odd thing is that we all had great hair when we were young.
