Help from the long beard guys?

I usually keep my beard at a 5 or 6, sometimes take it down to a 3 in the summer.  Always wondered about having a longer one though!

I tried last year (2011) but once my beard hits a 7 or so it curls like crazy and looks like a scraggly mess!  Was wondering from all the epic beard guys if there is a trick to having such a straight full beard or if its just something that happens for you...

I have an old friend who has been "OCD" about his medium length beard for many years. He combed and brushed every spare moment. It sure paid off, because it is silky smooth and always has a eye pleasing shape. All the women wanted to touch it but were afraid that he would get upset.

Don't feel bad, Brandon. Mine does the exact same thing. I call it "doing weird Castro things".

So I keep mine neatly trimmed. Wish I could grow a Marsh-style beard.

Thanks for the compliment!  To tell you the truth, my dear 94 year old stepmom made a request that I don't grow it long!  I love her dearly and kind of thought of honoring her request.  But I am kind of wanting to grow it from the present 2 month old length to a 6 month length.  I would love to have a Dr Andrew Weil style beard.  We will see if I have the guts to do it!
