Champ is right, this is the place for solace...
welcome to the site my friend
Thank you all for the warm welcome.
The combover days are over 20 years past. My wonderful wife did my first buzzcut many years ago, and has kept it cut "near sly" for all that time. I don't know why that last 1/16th of an inch seemed like such a big difference. It really turned out not to be.
I have never let my hair (or lack of it) define who I am. I am a father, a husband, an engineer. I can be all those things with or without hair.
I enjoy being bald, but to me, it isn't that big a thing. I don't see this forum as therapy as much as it is comraderie.
I have been a serial lurker for a few weeks, and decided to finally sign up on the forum.
I started going bald in college, did the combover thing back in the 80's, kept a short buzz for about the last ten years, and took the plunge about a year ago.
I guess the buzzcut softened the shock, because going "sly" wasn't really that big a change. I got very few reactions when I did it.
The one big change I have noticed is that the "bald jokes" (really put-downs and snide comments, if you ask me...) have almost completely stopped.
This place looks like it could be fun...
Welcome! I was a lurker also... you'll love this site!
Welcome zzaap, glad you joined us.
Welcome zzaapp - and yes, this place is fun
Welcome Zzaapp! Glad to hear you're diggin' the new do (don't)...well, for the past year now!
