Two recent, totally unrelated threads on our Forum turned into an interesting series of events that has highlighted the Kindness of Strangers.
Thread #1 - Someone posts a thread talking about a new line of products, for head shavers, by Bee Bald.
Thread #2 - I post a thread about a charity motorcycle ride.... Scotty's Ride.
But then it got interesting:
1) I contact Bee Bald asking about their products and I get a nice response with a press release describing their products.
2) I post the press release in a thread and some of us critique the products based on price.
3) I post about Scotty's Ride and ask if anyone would like to donate.
4) I immediately get several offers of donations for Scotty's Ride.
5) Bee Bald's owner, Dennis, contacts me and offers to send me free samples of their products to try. He promptly sends them.
6) I try the products and love them and I get an idea.
7) I offer the three tubes of Bee Bald products as "raffle" prizes for anyone that donates to Scotty's Ride.
I get more donations for Scotty's Ride... including a donation from Dennis at Bee Bald.
9) I draw the names for the raffle, contact the winners, and post the names of the winners to the Forum.
10) I get an email from Dennis at Bee Bald stating that everyone that donated to Scotty's Ride will get free samples of their products.
The two totally unrelated threads converged so nicely and all involved benefited. Scotty's Ride benefits from the generous donations from the SBG guys. Local Families in my area benefit from the SBG donations thru Scotty's Ride. I benefit because I get to try the Bee Bald products free of charge before they go to market. The three raffle winners benefit because they get to try the three Bee Bald products that I pass along in the raffle. All of the guys that donated to Scotty's Ride wind up benefitting because Dennis at Bee Bald decides to send free products to everyone that donated. Dennis and Bee Bald benefit because they have made a group of head shavers happy and picked up some new customers before they even hit the market.
About a month ago nobody on the Forum had even heard of Bee Bald products or a little charity motorcyle ride in Maryland by the name of Scotty's Ride...... but today 10 members of this Forum, Scotty's Ride and Bee Bald are all intertwined. All because of the kindness of strangers.... guys, all different, from all over the country. Amazing and beautiful.
