New tunes that float your boat!
« on: September 16, 2012, 03:53:39 AM »
Wondered what songs had people humming and singing along too at the moment? Mine is this by Robbie Williams..US people will probably have never heard of him, but he was a member of HUGE UK boy band Take THat and became an artist in his own right.

Hope the You Tube link embedded!

Interesting video...I wonder what the message is, hummm?

While there I checked out the latest Taylor Swift vid...is she getting into Avril Lavigne's style?

That video clip is for everyone... I didn't personally like the song, but I got to watch Robbie Williams get hit but stuff over and over again haha.

I don't really have a new song that I am really digging at the moment. So instead I'll share the single of the newest local band (well, kind of... they are from the other end of the country to me lol) I have heard and loved live, Alpine Fault:

Slynito - Isn't Avril more of a punk pop kind of sound? I haven't heard anything of hers for years though... probably since skater boy lol!

Avril, is still rockin'...I think she recently got married. Wow, I like your "Alpine Fault" video! Reminded me of how I liked, "Asia" looooong time ago.

I really try to stay away from what is mainstream and never listen to the radio at home or in tbe car unless its talk radio. I use my droid for all my listening pleasure  64 gigs worth of music,.audio books and d/loaded podcasts I am a big fan and supporter of Independent labels and will post some up when I am at home near one of the computers.

LOL Beardman, I'm kind of liking the pink suit! reminds me a bit of that "Christmas Wrapping" song by The Waitresses?

That Alpine Fault song is very Evinesscance (sp?) esque.

Not so mainstream, but I also like this..80's with a modern twist

Fair enough, she has fallen off the map in Australia. I am glad to hear you liked it, when I heard them live I just new I had to buy their CD! Even though the sound technician completely ruined their set...

What... so I'm a little bit sadistic... You wouldn't catch me dead in anything pink personally :P

Umm, I guess they kind of are like Evanescence... That is the last band I personally would use to describe them, but I guess them and Lacuna Coil would probably be the 2 most similar mainstream bands! I would say they are actually more like Nightwish, Leaves' Eyes (haven't listened to them in a while, I might actually play some now) or Delain. They are all really amazing symphonic power metal bands!
