Description of Edwin Jagger DE Razors
« on: September 06, 2012, 08:31:56 PM »
The Edwin Jagger webpage does not "open up" enough to show their products.  I have tried  both FireFox and Internet Explorer.

Is their another site that shows a comparison  and description of all their razors.

(Merkur site is wonderful)

Hi tomcj2:  The Edwin Jagger razors are excellent razors made in England.  This was my first modern day razor.  It is the EJ89L version.  The L stands for the lined chrome.  The line chrome gives it a better grip compared to the non-L version.  Here is a link to the EJ89L with about over 175 reviews.

Enclosed are pics of my Edwin Jagger 89L (EJ89L)....

Also check out www.badgerandblade.com>>> it is a forum dedicated to the traditional way of shaving.  Our sly brothers....Mikekoz13 and BillonBass  also use the same EJ89L.  Long story short,  this is an excellent DE razor that shaves like a dream and is also a real looker.

The EJ89L is an excellent razor and for the $36 I paid for it a true steal.

I have a standard DE89, not the L model.  It's also a fantastic razor.

Thank you for your prompt responses.  Reference has been made to model EJ89L, but the link that Warhawk gave shows (amongst the many) a De89lbl at $43 and a De89bl for $35.16;  the descriptions seem the same.  What is the difference?

My apologies..., it IS a DE89L. EJ = Edwin jagger

The "L" version has the lines machined length wise into the handle. The non"L" model does NOT have those lines in the handle. That is the only difference between the two.

Thanks for the reply.  I think I will order the 89L.

Any comments on Parker razors?
