As I type this, I have a beard so I don't shave as much of the face as the non-bearded guys do....but I wet my face, mix in Shave Secret with any shaving soap/cream/gel and apply it with a brush....for the days I get razor burn I rub an ice cube just as I would on a freshly shaved head....I think this tends to happen more during the summer months than during wintertime, but it may just be me....

This Response Is For Everybody.

Normally, I Just Use Trimmers On My Face, & Call It A Day, But My Facial Hair Grows Back In About 2 Days If I Did That.

This Time, I Used Warm Water, Baby Oil, Headslick, And Mach 3.

I Shave With The Grain On My Face Oppose To My Head.

Afterwards I Rinsed Off Any Residue On My Face With Cold Water.

Dapped A Little More Baby Oil On My Face, And That's About It.

Hmmm.... that's a pretty standard way to go so there shouldn't be a real problem.
My guess is that one of the items you are using isn't agreeing with your skin.
Try eliminating one of the items from your routine... maybe the baby oil... and see if the same thing happens. If it does not.. yo found the culprit but if it still happens try something besides HeadSlick.

Finally... and this is my guess as to what the problem most likely is..... try a different razor. Maybe your face just doesn't like that Mach 3.

Good luck and let us know what happens.

If you want to try something in place of the baby oil - give Shave Secret a try.

I use it in the same 2 spots as you use the bably oil.

The use of 2 drops after the shave seems to help with the irritation issues that I have.

Part of the problem may be that your face just isn't used to being shaved.  It may toughen up after a bit.  As for my experience, after years of problems (ingrown hairs, razor burn, etc) I tried the following about 5 years ago:

1. Always shave after a shower, or at the bare minimum use a hot wash cloth for 2-3 minutes to soften your beard.
2. Use a good shaving cream (I use Proraso, available on Amazon and also marketed as C.O. Bigelow at Bath & Body Works, but there are lots of others)
3.  Use a single-blade razor (I used a Bic at first, but shortly thereafter started using a Double-Edge safety razor)
4.  Do 2 passes - one with the grain, one across the grain (later, think about adding against the grain, but at first, only across).
5.  Splash with cold water to remove the excess cream and little hairs
6.  Use an aftershave, let your face dry for a couple minutes, then use a moisturizer.

Once I went to this routine, all my problems vanished (seriously).  Good luck.

You need to toughen up your skin. Start by splashing ice cold creek water on your face a few times then get your buck knife and right from the start go against the grain repeat 2x then splash some cheap whiskey on your face. Do this everyday for 15 days then you will have tough skin. My pop had me and my Sister doing this when we turned 12 yrs old. $#3

If something on me had to look like that..... I think I'd rather deal with facial razor bumps than with bumps on the scalp...might just be me, but of course I can just grow a beard if needed. Good luck, man.

May I suggest Kiehl's. They have a counter at Bloomingdales/Saks5A/etc. They make some of the best Men's skin stuff I've ever encountered. A little pricey, but WELL worth it.

I have very sensitive facial skin, and it's been excellent for me.
Bald since 2005, showing it off since 2011.

I've tried Kiehl's pre-shave oil and it is very good, but it is pricey.  They also have their own stores in some cities and malls as well as online.
