Hi there, I'm new round here, please be kind!!  ;D

Bit of a long term lurker but realised I've not posted yet!!

Just thought I'd drop in and post more as I have been through what a lot of the younger guys are going through and I can understand that young hairloss could seem like the end of the world! I've yet to go fully sly but I have been buzzing my head with no guard since 2003 (since I was 21) as it was starting to thin and it was taking longer to wash my face every morning!  ;D My dad, and his dad before him are/were both bald so I figured out from quite an early age that I was more than likely gonna go down that route too.

Fortunatly I didn't find it too bad going from hair (and long hair at that!) to pretty much no hair, I worked in a mechanical job so it was nice not to have it getting in the way and it was great getting out of the shower, wiping my head and being set for the day!!

There was some embarressment I guess about showing my friends and family even and I wore a lot of hats (I'm a hat person, I used to wear them in my hair days too!) then as I got older and more friends got married etc... I had to air the head and trust me when I say no one cared at all, seemed the only person botherd was me! Like I say I'm yet to go full sly, I have a few times but not consistantly, it's not the look, it's more I'm not used to feeling that dome!!

To any young un's out there, don't panic, it is what it is and you'll find out the only person botherd is yourself!! The girls dig confidence more than hair, just keep an eye out and you'll soon feel better when you realise there are a lot of lovely ladies on the arms of sly guys and I'm not gay but I quite often see a bald dude and think "there is a good looking guy", sly is a style in itself, not the last resort!

Gearhead, welcome.

And well-stated. Sounds like you've found the right style for yourself - and that really is what it is all about.

Hope you'll participate regularly in the forums. Lots of topics of interest, and additional viewpoints are appreciated.

Well you've all inspired me, decided to go fully sly this morning  ;D

Like I said, I've been buzzing it with no guard for the best part of a decade so it's not a massive change, more a change of feel than look!! Just feeling all the stripes I've missed!!  ;D

Hey I really think the sly look suits you, but I think the beard is too bushy.  Just my opinion.
