  My name is Lachlan Dudley and I am twenty one years old. I started loosing my hair when I was aorund seventeen years old which, as you can imagine, was a rather big blow to my confidence. With that said, my hair thinned very slowly but at eighteen years old I started to use minoxidril and proscar. While I did not experience any hair gain from this product it halted my hair loss completely. I was delighted with this! My hair looked full (as I had not lost enough to make it too visible, except for little v shapes in the front of my hair line). Many have cited money and danger from these chemicals (i.e proscar and minioxidril) as reasons for simply accepting their hair loss and shaving their head. These are certainly reasons that contributed to my decision to shave my head (It was a great decision by the way ). But the main reason I choose to shave my head is that I wanted to liberate myself from the ridiculous anxiety of having to worry about my hair every time teh wind blows. Having to wear hats whenever I was not happy with my hair nearly drove me crazy!! Honestly, I cannot stress enough how liberated and empowered you will feel if you just get the clippers out and shave your mane. I told my girlfreind of my plan to shave my head and she was HORRIFIED. She begged me not too as I had shaved it a few years before and it looked crap (I only shaved it too like a 5 guard  or something). My Mum, who also hates short hair, threatened to shoot me if I went through with my plan. I also thought that I had a very funny shaped head as when I rubbed my scalp when I had hair it felt as though my head went into a bit of a cone shape Somehow I managed to muster up enough courage to go through with it and I am surprisingly quite happy with the result. Yes, I do look better with hair. But, I honestly don;t look that bad without hair either and people actually get used too it really quickly! So, what is the point of this post? For any of you young blokes out there who have experienced premature male pattern baldness, I hope that I may be able to inspire you to shave your noggin. Yes, it is easier said then done. At the risk of sounding conceited, I am a pretty confident guy. I am not bad looking and I have a good personality to help me get away with not having a full head of hair. My head is also a good shape for being bald, but I sure as hell didn't know this until I was half way through shaving it! Too shave of my thinning locks, however, is something I wish I could have had the guts to do years ago. It would of saved me stress, money and a large amount of time spent on checking my hair in the mirror. I have shaven my head with a  no guard as I still have a full head of hair and I think it would have been a bit too much for me to go straight to being bald. I will post before and after pic. I am the one of the far right of the photo with my two brothers. Note, I am not the one with the semi-shaved head in this photo.

• To reduce the size you can do it in Paint, Photoshop, or postimage.org. Anyways, I think it looks great. Takes a lot of courage to do it, shows a lot about you. Hair is overrated.

• To reduce photos you can also use irfanview.exe (free download ... it's open source software).  Works nicely.
  
  I be google's picasa would also resize photos.

• Welcome to the club mate, you look good, you didn't mention your girl friend or mum's reaction to the finished product, I guess you are still alive so your mum didn't shoot you, I guess that is testament enough
