First shaved my head smooth when I was 27 years old, now Im 41. Am I considered in the older guys group?
Kalbo, you are 41? Whoa. I would never have guessed. I thought you were in your 20's!
I'll let you claim to be in the 'older guys' group, but it's hard to believe.

I had long hair for many years and just decided to donate my pony tail to "Locks of Love" and try BBC for a while I was still very young when I did it, sixty-something.
Same here. About 11 years ago at age 48 I did the deed. I had hair down to my shoulder blades one day and a smooth dome the next. I was shiny on top prior to shaving but the real reason for scraping my dome was deer flies.
Well, now, If I had dear flies, I'd shave my 'whatever', too!
LOL.
I guess, when my honey goes to visit her sisters in Minneapolis, I have dear flies , too! (Usually on US Air).
Good thing you had deer flies. You look great bald. And think of all the shampoo that you are saving.

I was 55 when I finally accepted that due to receding and thinning at the hairline, my flattop wasn't working any more, so I started getting #2 buzz cuts with bald fades on the sides to make what was left on top look thicker. Later that year I had the barber shave it smooth with a razor for the first time just before I went on a week's vacation. My wife wasn't enthralled with the look, so I let it grow back out to a #2 buzzcut, but kept cutting it shorter and shorter over the next year until I was down to a clipper shave. Then, two years ago I decided to try the 30-day trial, and I've been sly ever since.

Yes Mr. Z. I will be turning 42 in December. I was not able to log in and post for a few days because I just got a new job and have been in training.

I wanted to shave it from the time I was about 15, but waited until I was 38. Man I wish I had done it 23 years before!

Did it the first time at age 37; shaved it for a few weeks every summer since until I made the commitment to be BBC evermore when I was 53. Wish I had done it sooner - I wanted to do it when I was in my early 20's.

After a variety of buzz cuts, I first shaved completely bald in 1996, when I was 35. I'm 51 now, and still have a full head of hair when I want it.
That first time, I stayed sly for 6 months, and grew it back.
Since then, I go sly for at least a few months every year.
Most recently, I went sly in mid-August and shaved every day for the last 3 weeks or so. Color is finally evening out.

I first used he clippers w/no guard the week before 9/11 when I was 27.
I've used the clippers ever since, but I finally decided to go sly (for good) a week and a half ago at age 39.
