hey so for all you guys that follwed my last post about the job interview, tragicaly i didnt get it. i'm kind of at a cross-roads.
so this just adds more to my thought that maybe i should move. only problem is i'm flat broke, it looks as if no one is hireing in my town. and i know where i want to go, i have a place to live with a very good friend of mine. i have an awesome group of friends there. but since i am flat broke moving seems impossible and since no one seems to be hireing at my town i am kinda screwed. i have no clue what to do.

How far away is it? I moved from CA to FL 2 months ago and let me tell you it was pretty scarry. Exciting though. My oldest brother lives here and the rest of my family is in MA. Lucky for me I am receiving my pension, its not enough to live on, but it helps. Do you have a lot of stuff to move? My suggestion is make the move. Have a garage sale. Move in with your friends. Then start applying for any job you can think of. Grocery stores, pet stores, fast food, etc. Some of them have really good benefits. Just my take on it.

I agree with reducing non-essential possessions before moving (a/k/a garage sale, etc.). Simplifies the move and life in general. It's remarkable just how little is actually "essential" when you get right down to it.
As for job prospects in CO ... don't overlook signing on with temporary agencies. More and more companies are now using temporary agencies to "try out" potential staff before hiring them. My last three employers have all done this.
Good thoughts to you in whatever decision(s) you make.

I agree with balddaniel. Sell off as much stuff as you're comfortable parting with. That'll give you a much needed cash infusion while at the same time reducing how much stuff you'll have to move. It might help lower the cost of moving too.

keep positive. start a small business or so, in times like this, it's everything or nothing. win it or lose it.

I completely agree with everyone who has already encouraged you to make the move. Having a garage sale is a great idea. As someone who packed up his whole life into two bags and moved to the other side of the world I can tell you you need very little to get by. I'm always a big advocate of moving and taking chances in general. You know what's available where you are now, you've been there and done that. If something inside of you is telling you to move, listen to it, whatever it is. It sounds like you'd be moving into a pretty ideal situation. You're probably feeling a little bit of fear about the move, I totally get that. The way to overcome that is to not think about the big picture too much. Just think about the next step in the process, the next thing you know you'll be in Colorado.
So, now you have to flip the switch in your head. You have to quit thinking about whether or not moving is a realistic possibility. It is. Now start to think of ways you can make it happen. Pool your resources. Reach out to people in your social network. You'll find a way to make it happen. Best of luck to you, brother. Keep us posted.

Palmer, sorry that it didn't work out man....but hang in there, you will be a valuable asset to some company....sometimes persistence pays off...I got turned down twice at my current job before I ended up getting it anyway. The company thought that I interviewed so well, they actually hung onto my application until some more vacancies came along. Always keep yourself open to moving. It may be painful, but have you thought of moving back home with mom and dad for a few months until you get back on your feet? Not to blow my own horn, but the Southeast job market is on the rise, maybe move to one of the Gulf States? Good Luck to you man, and take care!

You might have not get the job, but definitely you got some experience out of it and I do believe that your next interview will be better.
Don't lose your hope, go ahead with your plan, move, and see how that turns out.
