Thanks for your positive comments Super Sly, slybeard, and BigKen. I may try growing my beard completely out one day. I tried a year ago, but the itching got on my nerves too much.
Me after trimming due to an accident with pancake syrup.
Hairy, we need to hear more about this pancake syrup accident.
6 month commit. Got my first professional trim this weekend, at about 3 months.
That looks amazing!
Wish I could grow a moustache like that.

I was in a restaurant and while I was lifting the fork to eat pancakes my friend and I bumped elbows. I missed my mouth and the syrupy pancake hit my beard in an area that was already tangled

Wow... looks great. I especially love the mustache. You should let that grow out a bit more (beardstache).

Congratulations, that is an awesome look on you. You guys know my preference is sly with a full beard, and you do it well. I suggest you either take it longer or maintain this length, just go no shorter.
I'm actually liking the longer mustache, and I plan on letting that grow out (if it will). I think I might actually be pretty close to terminal length, but I'm not sure as I've never let it get this long before.
I'm going to try letting the beard go a few more months, but I think this might actually be just about right for me. My beard is patchy on the cheeks and sideburns, so when I try to go longer everything just looks wispy and I get flyaways everywhere. Tried Beard Wax, blow dryer, softening, and a few other things. Just can't tame it when it gets too long because it's so patchy in those areas.

Mustaches typically grow slowly, especially after becoming established like yours. The tip (edges) will grow faster, but the center hairs will reach a terminal length around 1.5 to 2 inches in length. Of course it is different for every guy. I have not trimmed the center hairs of my mustache for 5 years, I only trim the tips. My cheeks are not that thick as well, and I have found recently that hair gel actually helps control the sides for me better than beard products.

Are you using anything on the 'tash in the photo?

Just a bit of Clubman Wax. I bought it a couple of years ago when I grew the stache out a bit for a Halloween costume. It was the only thing I could find local. We're going to CA this weekend and plan to hit up The Old Town Shaving Company in Pasadena. I'll probably pick up some new stuff while we're there.
Hey Guys! It's been a while since I've been on here, so I thought I'd send a beard pic.
I hope you are all doing well!

Welcome back, Mike. Looks like your beard is doing well. How was EPCOT?
