The longer beard length looks good on you, Tobler.  Length helps beards to not be so "see through" and look fuller.  But I always think more beard length is better.

At what stage do you guys recommend tidying up the neck & cheek lines of a full beard? I've heard 4 weeks minimum, 6 weeks ideal?

I'm thinking of trying for a stiletto beard which recommends growing it out for 9-13 weeks:


I think I would need to tidy up the neck and cheeks before 9-13 weeks though or I would looks very scruffy.

I've never heard of a stilleto beard until now, I like the shape idea, can't really see the point of shaving the two sections in it though, give it a try, you can always change your style.

KJK1LL3R, I an not typically a fan of carved beard styles, since they can be high maintenance to keep them looking sharp.  But as to trimming a neckline, I normally recommend that as soon as it starts looking scrapy.  Depending on where your natural neckline stops, the can be different from guy to guy.  It most imprtant thing is to not go too high, about a fingers width above the Adam's Apple.  Cheeklines can be left alone for most guys, but if yours are too high or uneven, you can carve them at any time.  As to the rest of the beard trimming, I agree with the video to wait until the 9 to 13 week suggestion.

The carving around the soul patch caught my attention.  I hear from many guys that have that look naturally and want it to fill in, and guys I know that do not have the gaps want to carve it out.

About a month since I last trimmed. Started on the Xmas break.

I remember looking at AJ Q-Ball's beard in his avi and thinking I'll never get that and now I reckon I could do that size! Well I want that kinda size!

Looking at my twitter my old beard was Dec 15 that I trimmed, on the left,Today was the pic when I bought a cap!
