Feeling inspired by the mighty beardage! It's a sunny day in Oregon and I'm having a good beard day. Going for the Billy Gibbons look (eventually)

Good looking beard length Tim. I hope you didn't disappoint the poor woman too much!

Tim,
It looks great, and your process of setting your trimmer longer with each trim is a good way to grow it out and keep it even and neat at the same time. Takes a little longer than just letting it grow, but a lot of guys are more comfortable with this method. Like others have said, a longer beard looks much fuller than a short stubble beard, especially if it is grey or blonde.

I agree. I have a friend who has gone gray, and it bugs me whenever I see him trim his circle beard to stubble for the same reason.
I have a friend who won't grow out a beard because of how much has turned gray, but he will do the stubble thing. Stubble looks even worse when it is gray on white skin because it looks like a blotchy white haze on the skin like some sort of fungal infection you'd see on a fish.

That seems to be the consensus.
Yeah, I'll weigh in on that. Both look great on you, but the beard is really dazzling.
Thanks. Lately I've been leaning towards keeping the full beard. I'm a little afraid of having shaver's regret if I make any changes.
Your goatee vs beard pictures are strange because you grow the perfect goatee and it fits your face (sometimes a guy who can grow a perfect goatee has a face that doesn't fit it) but your beard is just as great. I'd also lean to the beard because it's still new for your and you don't have anything against it. You've done the goatee for years so give this a shot.
Actually the reason I am confident you will keep it is your indecision on whether to keep it. I've found that the people who show the most pride and excitement over their beards are the quickest to shave it off. Am I the only one to notice this phenomenon? Those guys either shave it off entirely for some incredibly lame reason, or they do something "creative" (i.e. stupid) with it, realize what they did looks stupid, and then shave it off a few days later.
Often guys who love their beards get some sort of length or time achievement in their head, go far beyond a length they like, and then shave it off entirely because they've apparently forgotten that you can actually trim the length of hair without taking it down to the skin.

When I'm indecisive about something I generally don't do anything, so that means I will probably keep it unless I get an irresistible urge to go back to the goatee.

Reddog: Actually, I'm Vash (red beard, black ford in the background). Hi!
Didn't mean to hijack the discussion of Tims' beard, which is looking good by the way
if we were voting, I'd say keep it going.

I gave up on trying to get the cheeks to fill in, plus I look more GQ with a tightly groomed beard.
