Looks good, Mr. Jules.
Does the barber charge more for maintenance with the greater length? lol.
Slymyke,
There was so much beard that it was scissors this time around rather than the usual trimmers.
Will leave it for a couple of months and focus on growing the length off the chin.
And the barber still charged the same £5 (about $7). And no tipping here in the UK !

My goodness, Razor X, what a transformation ! Is there scope for further growth ?
And I can see tell tale glass wearing lines above your ears there ? Have the same lines too, and cover them up by wearing my glasses.

The cheeks need to fill in and grow out a bit more. You can't see it in the photos but they still don't blend in with the goatee area as well as I'd like. Another week of growth and another trim and it should be pretty much a finished product.
And yes, you can see the "scar" left by my glasses.

Just a week of growth on the cheeks ?
My own plan is to let is leave my goatee alone for the rest of the year. Should add another 1-2 inches to the length. And just shave around it as necessary.

Another week until everything can be blended together properly. After that we'll see.

Razor, it looks great! I like the pattern of the red agianst the white. It is so symetrical that you couldn't have planned it any better!

Tomorrow will be four weeks. I've gotten a lot more comments growing this beard than I did when I shaved my head. Mostly, "No shave November?" I'm still on the fence. I'll probably give it another month before deciding whether or not to go back to the close cropped goatee.
My wife did say she was starting to like it, but that was two days ago. Today, apparently she has changed her mind!

During the growing-in period, there are good days and bad days. That's why it's a good idea to give it sufficient time before making a decision. Waiting another month as you suggested is a wise move. When it grows out enough, get it tidied up by a barber and keep it a little while longer before making a final decision. Your wife may start liking it again once she sees it in its mature and stable state. Hang in there.

Mike,
I think it looks great already... and a few more weeks will make you a believer for sure. (and hopefully the Mrs. as well) if not, well... we have to chose our battles, and I say this one is worth fighting for.
Mine was starting to like it, but deep down she really likes the goatee better. The other day I had an interview and almost chopped it down to a goatee. Instead, I trimmed the whole beard down with a #1 guard. She was kinda smiley when I said I might do the goatee again, but was supportive of the full beard too.
