Yes, it will be some time before I catch up with you! That's a lot of length you've added!
Reckon the goatee is about 3 inches now. The barber will be given strict instructions next week. I do trust him with my beard, though.
So what's the goal? Do you want to keep all that length?

I would like to grow the goatee longer still. Perhaps another 2 months.
However, got a few business commitments taking me out of the office between now and Christmas. So I'll ask the barber to tidy up around the edges and trim back some of the length.

I went to the barbershop first thing this morning for some much-need pruning. Got the neckline cleaned up and the goatee blended into the new growth to the extent possible at this stage (Day 11).
Are you keeping the beard this time around? BTW I've always thought you had one of the best goatees around so I like seeing your going for more length and how it looks so perfectly full (yup jealous
).

I'll probably keep the beard for a while, at least. I'll try to hang onto it through the winter. After that, we'll see. But you'll always have me beat when it comes to length!

Just an update: I think this is roughly 3 years and 2 months on the goatee, and the trimmed beard is about a year old. I think I've finally figured out how to properly grow a full beard on my face because this is the only full beard I ever had where I wasn't constantly cutting and hacking at it to fit. It's also the only one where I legitimately like it: prior to this I always though if I hung in there long enough I would get used to it but never did. This one just feels like it belongs and therefore it's a keeper.
As for the goatee, I'm not seeing much growth anymore but I am now measuring it with a yardstick lol. You can't see it (my camera might as well be a cellphone camera) but the yardstick is measuring at 21". Of course most of the hair isn't that long. I don't know but I think it is getting thinner ever up near the top. I don't know if that is the case or not, but it's making me wonder if I'm shedding too much. It should be thinner at the bottom, but at the top?
And
I also found there's a new local chapter of Beard Team USA near me and they are having an event at a local bar on the first of next month, so I plan to attend.

Looks great, Rusty. I like how you've blended the sides of the beard into the goatee.

Haha..
@Rusty----Thanks for the beard update. It looks cool. I agree with Razor about how you did a good job blending the beard with the goatee.

Impressive, Rusty! I probably will never go that far, but it's a lot of fun watching the other members grow it like that...maybe we should have a beard contest....Oh, wait, that what this thread is for, right?

Does the barber charge more for maintenance with the greater length? lol.
