I think it looks great! Do you know how many guys would kill for that kind of growth in just two weeks?

Mike E.P., don't stop now - its just starting, resist the urge to shave it for 90 days. You have a very good start.

Sorry, but I don't understand how anyone could say that his beard doesn't look great.

This is two weeks growth. Suggestions? My wife is telling me to shave it off and I'm starting to feel she may be on to something...
That is two weeks? Impressive, sir. It is coming in really well.
I think your wife is going to come around.

Looks great, E. P.! Sorry to hear wifey doesn't agree... Don't let her discourage you, my friend! From what I've noticed, that's just par for the course. Most women do not like excessive (if any) facial hair on their men. Many a great beard have vanished from existence for that very reason... I consider myself incredibly lucky in that department, as my ball n' chain LOVES my face rug.
On that note, I'm also here to update my beard pic/status. 6 months growth now, and no end in sight!
Keep up the great work, everyone!

Good results, Natros. We are on about the same schedule, it has been about 7 months since my last trim (so I did not start at zero), and if I had to guess I have the equivalent of about 9 months if I started with a clean shave. My last photo and yours looks very similar in length. Have you tried waxing the mustache?
My wife has also been very accepting of the beard.

Thank you kindly for the support, my bald brothers! Means a lot!
Have you tried waxing the mustache?
No, sir. I think it's about time I give it a try, though. This cookie duster on my face does more getting in the way than anything else, and I don't want to trim it too much, if at all...
I love what you have going on, but just like anything else, gotta find what works for me. Regardless, do you have a particular wax (brand) you would suggest? I'm thinking mid-strength for a good balance. I was just looking around, and Firehouse Dark Wax seems like it may be up my alley.

I was rushing to get ready to go out last weekend and took a big chunk out of my goatee. It had to come off. I'm not a big fan of my being completely shaven, so immediately began regrowing. I've been inspired by this thread so I think I may attempt the full beard. I've tried it before but have gotten discouraged quickly. My beard grows in very heavy and dark on the bottom, but comes in patchy on the cheeks. And the itching drives me crazy. .
So what am I doing with this? This is two weeks growth. Suggestions? My wife is telling me to shave it off and I'm starting to feel she may be on to something...

Nate, I sent you a PM with some suggestions on mustache wax.
I was on a college campus over the weekend for Homecoming and the game. I experienced more complements, comments, and positive gestures than I could count. Seems all the college guys either have facial hair if so blessed, or they are eagerly waiting until that can grow facial hair. Last week, two guys passing me on the road slowed down to look, stroked their own facial hair, and gave me the thumbs up on my beard. I have yet to get a negative comment since I started the full beard. I am not looking for others approval, but admit the positive reinforcement is great.
Am I correct to assume this is the common experience of others with "longer than normal" beards? I consider anything over 1/2 inch or so is longer than normal.
