Hey guys, there are some great beard pics on here since I logged in last!  I was on the road and busy with work for a couple months.  Now I am unemployed, so I have too much time  :-\   -lol.  The worst part of it for me is that over the past month, I have shaved off my full beard down to a goatee for an interview...then evened it out and was just growing it back pretty well when I had another interview, so I shaved it off again.   I don't like just having my goatee anymore, but feel that I can't go into an interview with the full beard.  (of course, you know I am pulling the "bait-and-switch routine"... I will grow it back after I am hired   ;D   *right now, I have a goatee with beard stubble on the rest of my face... waiting for it to grow back, or until I get another interview (whichever comes first).

Welcome back Slymyke. Good luck with the job hunt. It can be a bit of numbers game. You just keep on applying and applying until someone makes you a job offer. You will get there.

First post, Been a lurker for a while, just never had anything to contribute. This is me a few years ago at 23, the day I shaved it off completely. Grew it for six months while 2 friends were away studying abroad, and when they came back I got rid of it. But I've had a beard since I was 16. I'm on the way to growing myself a longer one. at the moment.

Looking good, everyone! Keep up the great work!
Sorry to hear about the unemployment, slymyke. You'll bounce back in no time (as will your excellent beard), brother!

As for myself, here is an updated picture (my avatar picture was taken back in early April). As you can see, I'm going full force again. The last time I tried growing it out, I kept getting the urge to trim after a few months. The urge went well past the 48 hour rule, so I did. I now firmly believe that the ongoing need to trim was because I kept trying to put a cap/goal on growing it. In other words, I was putting a limit on it (of sorts) without even realizing it. I think that was my downfall: I was expecting it to get to, or be, in a certain place, and became dissatisfied with it constantly.

This time, I'm just going with it, and I'm finding it's much easier to let it grow this way. Not worrying about where it will be when I get to a certain date.. Not worrying about the coverage, or even how it looks. It's honestly nice. It seems to be growing much faster when I don't pay attention to it (a watched pot never boils!). I'm getting more and more compliments as time goes. So, you can probably gather that I have no end date, or goal this time. I'm just going to let it keep growing, and not pay too much attention to it. Woo hoo!!
