My wife doesn't like the beard. She only likes a close-cropped van-dyke.
I suppose I shouldn't attempt to understand the female mind but what is it exactly that she objects to? The hairy cheeks? Additional length? If she doesn't mind your chin and upper lip being hairy, then what's the big deal? A lot of women seem to feel that way for some reason.

LOL... yeah, it is puzzling. I have to think back to when I first grew the goatee... she didn't like it at first, but then really liked it. Maybe if I wear the beard long enough, she will like it too. The only thing is that I have done this before, and she never caught on. I think this time, I will keep it for myself. Maybe she is afraid I won't stop and will decide to go for the "Duck Dynasty" look. Hmmmmmm..... sounds tempting.

Marsh, have you ever thought about going for more od a wizard look -- a long beard that is more tapered in the sides and less full on the cheeks than what you had before? Just a thought.
No, I have not thought of that at this point. I am kind of going for the Dr Weil look right now. We will see how long I can stand to grow out my beard. But I am thinking at the least, that I may possibly keep the full beard as my main look. But I may possibly go to it being quite trimmed. But right now I am feeling like growing it somewhat long.

Most of us could not pull off that look but deep down I think we'd all like to give it a try.

I think I'm the only one who wouldn't like to try. But it's a bit of a long story with me.

That beard is coming along a treat, Razor X. Third picture is the best.
This morning, went to the barbers. Difference person in there. And he's butchered my beard.

But, keep your furry chin up, they can't stop it from growing back nice. I have only had mine trimmed by a barber once--not great job, not a butcher job either, thank goodness. But if I ever do that again I want the barber to have a beard, a real one that I think looks good. Otherwise, barefaced barbers could harbor some bad feelings for the bearded and they may not be aware of it.

Sorry.
How bad is it? Bear in mind that most trimming accidents will self-correct in a week or two.

I've been away about six months or so, but just had to log in to comment on all the rockin' beards.
Razor X: It really works; good look for you.
Mr. Jules! The Hollywood is great! I remember when you were still growing it out, wondering how it would look. Now we know: fantastic.
MarshD: The Dr. Weil look is a good one.
It's nice to see so many bald, bearded brethren.

Not that you can speak with any authority on the topic.
Thanks for the compliment.

Sorry to hear that! Hope it isn't too bad and the recovery will be short!

Thank you for concerns, guys.
Judge for yourselves...
Couple weeks and it will have grown through again.
