I want to shave but worried about head shape?

Hi I'm 23 and going bald, have receding hairline and bald spot on top of my head. I'm using Dermmatch to cover the bald spot but I'm so sick of using it, it takes too long to apply and its just no way to live.

Anyway I want to buzz it off but I'm afraid Ill look stupid because I have hair kinda covering my receding hairline and when I buzz it Ill be more noticeably balding. Also I'm worried the shape of my head and would really appreciate some honest feedback on how you would think Id look.

You are NOT the unique in fact about 70 percent of newbies worries about their head shape(although i don't understand way, we are all unique not clones ) and 30 percent head size (we should run a statistic here) I have a Kennedy sized head and Kennedy was a smart man so I might just become a president one day  !

Hi there Bendub and welcome.

You won't know how it will look unless you buzz it down and try.  Many of us here had a few fears of how we would look if we shaved bald, but we took a chance and many were impressed with the look.  Don't be afraid of your head shape, as it takes a whole new dimension when you are completely bald.

Read the many posts here and see how many guys came to terms with their balding and how they are now free of worry since they changed their attitude after going sly.

I promise you, your head shape is the last thing you have to worry about.

Welcome Bendub.  From the looks of it, you'll be just fine.  Give it a shot and see how you like it.  You'll be pleasantly surprised when discovering all of the included benefits to being sly.

Hey Bendub, Welcome!

As you poke around the other forums you'll see that head shape has often been mentioned as a concern. It turns out, for no reason. Because once the guys have shaved whatever concerns they had proved to be unfounded. Same will be true for you - I don't see anything in the photos which suggests you would be any different.

And like KG just posted above, there are so many benefits to the Sly look (either buzz or shave) - you'll have more time, and far more confidence because you won't be worrying about whether someone will discover your true hair situation.

Right now you are letting your hair(loss) control your life. Shouldn't it be the other way around?

Welcome, Bendub! It's normal to be nervous about a life changing event such as cutting your hair short or even bald....The good thing is you can always grow it back if you try it and it doesn't work out....Good Luck with whatever you decide!

Welcome Bendub! One thing I've noticed while browsing around the forum......it seems that everyone has a different headshape, but EVERYONE looks great bald.

Bendub,  I don't think you have anything to worry about.  I think your head shape will be just fine.  Just buzz and see that is the only way to tell.  I agree with the other guys you could always grow it back, but I'll bet you won't.  I never did.

Your head shape seems ok.
One way to hide the fact that you are going bald is to actually go bald and buzz it.
If you like the outcome you can shave it.

Your head shape looks normal.  Buzz it gradually shorter and shorter while getting used to "less hair".  Then take the plunge and razor it smooth.  Keep it smooth for 30 days and you wil be glad !
