….when I asked my wife to cut my hair. She’d been clippering it for years (#3 on top and #2 on the sides), but this time the clipper guard fell off and I got a 4” “reverse Mohawk” right on the top of my head. LOL Poor girl, she felt terrible but I took it in stride and suggested she cut the rest off because I looked rather funny the way I was. She took me down to a #1 all over and….WOW….what a feeling. A few hours later, she suggested that she kinda liked the “bald look” on me.
I had joked about shaving my head for years, but never gave it much serious thought, but now that it was so short any way and since the wife didn’t find me unattractive, maybe I’d think about it again. The next day, during a slow moment at work, I Googled “I want to shave my head” and lo and behold there is a whole website devoted to the idea…….Sly Bald Guys!
Well, few days of lurking and several hours of lost productivity later, I created an account and buzzed myself down to a 0 while I gave the whole idea of going Sly serious consideration. During this time I endured the questions from co-workers and relatives while I learned about HeadBlade products, St. Ives Apricot Scrub and the restorative powers of Witch Hazel after a shave. I was amazed at how supportive everyone was on the forum without the usual trolling and flame wars that I’ve seen on other sites.
I had tried to give myself a few weeks with a #0 clip to try and get some sun on my scalp, but yesterday I just ran out of patience. This morning, I’m starting my first full day among your ranks. All I can say is “What an AMAZING feeling!!” The first shave went well….a little razor burn, but no major blood loss.

Now that the deed is done so to speak, I wanted to introduce myself and say I look forward to participating in the forum. I guess I also need to take another profile picture….the one I have now was when I was buzzed to a 0.
