HeadBlade convert
« on: August 01, 2012, 04:07:53 PM »
I just tried my new HeadBlade Sport for the first time. All I can say is "Holy hedge trimmer, Batman! Now that's what I call a shave!" I'm impressed with how little resistance or razor burn there was. I think it's safe to say the Sport is my new razor of choice.

I agree, it's quite a nifty device.

Does it not end up costing a lot for replacement blades though?  Especially for daily shavers?   One of the reasons I moved away from face shaving with cartridges was due to the high prices.
If headblade could use DE blades I'd try it!

About $9 for a four pack at walgreens, but if I can get enough shaves out of it it'll be worthwhile. Especially since it's faster than the disposables I've been using and I don't get the razor burn.

I got Gillette CustomPlus3 cartridges on Amazon for $1.17 each (three 4-packs for $14.08) and each one lasts me a week of daily shaving. No complaints here.

Still far more than I pay for DEs or my favourite disposable though.  Thanks for the info but I'll pass I think.

I love my HB. I think I might try the Atra blades though... I dislike how much the HB blades clog up, and I rinse it out after every two swipes across my dome-piece. But I haven't encountered any razor burn (knock on wood). Haven't gone ATG yet though.

But agreed, I think the HB makes shaving your head a lot quicker.

I was a HeadBlade basher for a long time..but once I got the concept, I'm impressed! It works well especially in the shower!

Good choice on the HB Hing. It's the best tool for the job, no doubt. I suggest you try the double blade cartridges from Wilkinson-Sword. They're a great value (ten-pack under four dollars), and give a super smooth shave. You can pick them up at Walmart.

I'll look for them next time I'm at WM.

Has anyone else noticed that the HB Sport looks kinda like a miniature VW Beetle?

Joe.... do these work with the yellow adapter or the black one?

They work with the yellow adapter Mike, same as an Atra plus.

Welcome to the club.
I use the HB with generic Sensor blades (not Excel, Excel 3). I shave daily AGT. I use the blades for around 2 weeks, could stretch it, but just use these used blades for my face after that.
I get another two or three weeks out of the blade shaving my face
In order to stretch it to two weeks I rinse the blades with alcohol and rest them on a blade sharpener until next use.

After shaving with the HB I sometimes use my generic handle razor to do a touch up on the sides shaving from bottom to top, AGT
