Hey there Mr Zed
I get the same thing from colleagues that have not seen me in a while. "Hello, wow, I diddn't recognise you at first, what's up with the new look?"
I just smile and say, "Life is about change, my friend".
Similar story in a way.
The weekend team I work with numbers about 200 folks. Except for a handful I see the others infrequently.
Jean, good-looking younger bald guy (similar height/weight to me) worked with us until about six months ago and moved on.
Last weekend I worked an entire day next to Sandra (whom I've known for several years). We chatted about various impersonal things. She'd not seen me bald and didn't mention it.
At the end of the day she said, "Jean, it was great working with you again."
I chuckled - and am taking it as a compliment. Good-looking, younger ... yeah, I'll take that.
I've been unrecognized myself, even by people I see on a regular basis.
Well no one recognizes me I went from a Full head of hair lubed up with gell, clean shaven, and glasses. To Bald,Horseshoe mustache and contacts in a few weeks period i also went ahead and had my right ear pierced to balance it out with the left one from my teen years.I have a wedding to go to this Saturday and its going to be a blast getting the reactions from the in-laws AKA (out-laws).Just Friday i was at the book store with my youngest Daughter and we spotted my Sister so i walked past her and said hi Karen she just looked and said hello and kept walking,a few min later i text-ed her and said i see you i am at the store also she looked around and made eye contact and still did not recognize me till my daughter came over to me she still cant get over the transformation,Absolutely no one knows its me.
Tom, that's great.
NOW is always a good time for a massive transformation! You've done us all proud.
