I'm new

Hey, my name is Alex. I'm 17 and I go to Huntington High School. I recently shaved my head because I was tired of maintaining my hair. My hair is weird and unruly- I have kept my hair buzzed relatively close (about 1/2 inch) and it still had cowlicks. I'm just wondering if a shaved look is something that I should continue into the school year or should I let it grow out. My parents like it both ways, and they say it's so much better than my hair long.

Me about a year ago - http://i1052.photobucket.com/albums/s444/_alexodonnell/moi.jpg . I looked rather feminine then. I kept my hair combed over because it was the only manageable style. I absolutely hated it.

Me about two days ago - http://i1052.photobucket.com/albums/s444/_alexodonnell/2012-07-26_13-07-00_670.jpg I really do like it shaved. It felt good to just rub my head without worrying about tangles and wiry hair.

Welcome, Alex! Always nice to see a young man who's BBC (bald by choice). I started shaving my head for a similar reason: No matter what I did to my hair, it never wanted to agree with me, so off it came. Now, nature has made sure my hair growth is catching up with me, but that's a different story.
I think being bald looks good on you , and you are obviously enjoying the experience, so I say roll with it. Keep doing it for yourself, not anyone else. Those who truly matter will accept it as who you are. Keep up the good work!  O0

Personally, I think it looks great. Try out the 30 day rule. Shave it everyday. :)

It's a style which suits you, and it's obvious that you are comfortable with it. Win-Win for sure.

I'd stick with it. And terrific that your parents are supportive; that's often a stumbling block. I think you've got it made.

Welcome to the bald brotherhood Alex. I agree with your parents, you look good both ways but if shaving bald makes you happy, then I am all for it. I admire you for being brave to shave it all off at 17, that is around my age when my desire to shave my head began, took me 10 years to build up that courage to shave my head.
Keep posting, I am sure you will be a good inspiration to the younger crowd.
