Hey Ryan: Welcome 2 the sly fraternity. Glad that ya joined us. The after pic is a much improved look. It's a keeper. Now if you ain't scared... I would suggest to participate in the "30 day rule". It is an "unwritten" rule on SBGs. Basically... the new head shaver will keep his/her dome smooth for the next 30 days. After the 30 days... the new head shaver will decide whether to keep it or grow it out. Most people... decide to keep it smooth.
Keep us posted to your road 2 slyness. Let us know how U like it and also keep us posted on all the reactions from family and friends.

Ryan, what's not to like? Looks really good ... and particularly easy to maintain for the outdoorsman in you.

I have had mixed reaction from friends and family. Most say they don't have it but that I look better with hair. I've always looked better with a beard (in my opinion) so I've given that some thought too. I just hate maintaining a beard. I got a few folks who said they like the look better.
I can feel some very fine hair on my scalp - it's not completely 100% bald. Is that normal? I used a Mach 3 and thought shaving my head for the first time was surprisingly easy.

I worry about reception at work more than anything. I am a RN at a hospital - this look is OK as far as appearance policy but I'm afraid it might raise some eye brows. Thanks for all the support guys.

Finally figured out how to attach pics!
As you can see there are some indentations in my skull so not exactly perfectly round!

I wouldn't worry too much about work. I'm an RN as well, and aside from the usual, "What happened to your hair!?" reactions from a few co-workers, it didn't raise any major eyebrows or concerns otherwise. if anything, I feel like I'm more hygienic in terms of cross-contamination, etc.

Always a good thing to point out, and we have less to worry about when dealing with any patient carrying a good case of head lice. The bald head looks pretty damn good in scrubs too, I might add.
Anyhow, welcome! Bald definitely suits you, regardless if you decide to grow a beard or not.

Welcome, Ryan! Looking at your before and after pics, after is definitely a keeper IMO....I know that maintenance of beards are always an issue, but have you considered just growing a goatee/van dyke to enhance your new slyness? On a side note, I've visited several friends in hospitals over the past year and change, and I've seen at least two sly doctors/nurses every time so that shouldn't be an issue....Good Luck!
