Yes, Goatee, I always use the Remington F5790 shaver. I shave everyday, so none of the razors I try will get it smooth without so much pressure that I get irritation. If I could get a grip and wait 2 days, the razor works much better.
I could use just the Remington, but usually run over the dome in the shower with a razor or headblade. When I use the DE, I shave in front of the bathroom mirror, and takes about 30 minutes. Time well spent!
I read many opinions on the Braun, so bought one a few weeks ago, tried it twice, didn't like it at all and sent it back. It just didn't seem to glide along my head very good, the Remington cuts closer, and no irritation.

Tonight i used just the Braun of which i used a new foil attachment that i ordered from Amazon as the old one was faulty. Didnt use a DE. Very close shave! Nice and smooth! Plus, no worrying about nicks and cuts. Went over stubbon areas several times and the roughness disappeared much better than when i use a DE.
To be honest it could very well be my technique that is holding me back while using a DE. I need to add pressure with the DE but i dont want to cut myself. No need to worry about pressure with the Braun.

I have only knicked myself a couple of times in the year+ of shaving my head, both times with a 3 blade razor. When I use the DE, I go really slow and take my time. I make sure the angle is right, and go very straight.

May as we'll call this one bloody Tuesday
Pre-shave: My mix of oil
Croap: Razorock Don Marco
Razor: The Slanthammer. Mercur 39c
Blade: lab blue
Post-op: Cold wash, witch hazel, NICK STICK, wash off, cry a bit...
A/S: Don Marco
Dang razor skipped on an ATG pass, tore a couple of holes in the old bean. I think it was just an old blade over a bad technique or lather (well, that's my story and I'm sticking to it!)

It happens bro. No matter when or what skill level you are, where there's a blade and skin sooner or later there will be blood.

6 week newbie, still using starter kit, but I had a really good shave this morning. This was my first use of the Crystal blades, and I got a 3 pass DFS with much less irritation than I usually get on day old stubble. Can't wait to try the Personna Reds and Personna Labs next.
I have found that for me to get an efficient XTG pass with the Feather Popular, they have to be on more of a diagonally that takes them just slightly ATG as well. Not quite a Gillette Slide, because the blade motion is still completely perpendicular to the blade edge.
I figured I should probably do a few SOTD posts with my Feather Popular before my new 37c gets here next week.
Prep:
• Hot shower
• Head & Face Wash: Oxy Maximum Action
• Pre-Shave: Shave Secret (also used lightly between passes)
• Brush: Van Der Hagen Boar Brush
• Soap: Uberlather with Van Der Hagen Shaving Soap, Liquid Glycerin Soap, and Gillette Sensitive Shave Gel
Hardware:
• Razor: Feather Popular
• Blade: Crystal Platinum (Israeli Blue)
Technique:
• Bowl lather
• Head only: WTG, XTG first direction, XTG opposite direction, cleanup around crown
Finish:
• Cold Water Rinse
• Walgreen's Brand Witch Hazel
