@Bluebriz: Correction on the debut of the razor that will rival the CC. It will be around the Christmas holiday season (Nov/Dec). Not only will they debut a SE razor that will rival the CC but they will also have a stainless steel injector that will be similar to the Schick Injector razors that you love.

This is my 1st time with this stainless steel beauty. It is a great performer. Too early to tell but so far I am liking it. For those of you who haven't tried Mystic Water Soap. . . I highly recommend it. It provides great lather and protection and the scent is amazing.

@Warhawk - Nice picture Mel!!
I don't have any pictures at the moment, but I've used a few different razors so wanted to share the info, if that's OK.
A member on B&B was kind enough to hone up my straights.
So last week, Thursday and Friday, I shaved with a Christensen 5/8 straight razor. I will get photos on here sooner or later.
Soap was Chumba Cheech from Razorock.
Saturday I was in a hurry so used Schick injector L1 type, same soap as previous days.
This morning a quick one-pass shave with Kai Captain Excelia and kai blade.
Aftershave all three times was HBG Bay Rum, and a bit of Mundus Bay Rum Cologne.
I'm hoping to get some time this week to concentrate on the Christensen, and then should be able to get a photo or two!
@Bluebriz: Hi Brian. . . I am looking forward to hearing more on your new straight razor. Of course, I cannot wait to see the pics.

My beautiful wife selected this SOTD. For those on the fence... there is nothing more zen-like and relaxing than a DE, SE , or straight razor shave.

Christensen 5/8.
Razorock Chumba Cheech Soap.
Cheap but great Omega boar brush.
Dessert was Bravas aftershave with 444 balm.
This was only a one pass shave, and I'm still new to real straights - in fact this was my third shave with this razor! I got a couple of small nicks around my chin, which is always a tricky area.
Pretty smooth overall, good enough for work anyway!
Hi Brian: That is a sweet looking SR. Thanks for sharing, my friend.

Last night's SOTD, September 17, 2013
Last night was my first real attempt with a straight razor. I have always been intrigued with straight razors but did not want to deal with the maintenance in owning one. So my recent purchase of the Feather Artist Club SS was much anticipated.
I used Tabac Shave Soap (excellent soap) using my Semogue Owners Club 2012 SE brush. I had a DFS on my face but had more difficulty head shaving with it. Matter of fact. . . I had to finish it off my head shave with my Weber DLC.
It took a long time to complete the task but I had fun doing it. However. . . I really struggled with the angles of this fine razor. I know it is going to be a challenging learning curve but I am willing to learn. So. . . if you have any advice for me I highly appreciate it.
Happy shaves gents and I look forward to hearing your SOTD entries.

@Warhawk Mel, I never persevered with the Feather/Kai razors long enough on my head to get great shaves, but on my face I can get great shaves with them.
I actually find my Kais and Feather RG easier to use than the SS because I thought the lip on the SS made me use a different angle. That's not to say it can't give wonderful shaves, because it can, it just presents its own set of challenges.
For me, my lather with straights is a bit wetter or more watery than with my DEs or SEs. I think the main points are like with DEs etc though. Very light touch, shallow angle to start until you find the right spot... You might want to try the guarded blades, but they can bite too. Also, although I prefer the folding kind - despite not expecting to - some people prefer the non folding kamisori style.
Anyway, very soon you'll be getting wonderful shaves from that little beauty, and you'll have a skill most men have forgotten ever existed!
Hi Brian: Thanks my friend. I am hoping to get accustomed to the Feather Artist Club SS. I know it is going to be a challenging learning curve for the head shaves but I won't give up.
