@ Bluebriz: Hey Brian... glad that your 1st test drive of the Merkur Progress was BBS. I am looking forward to hearing more. BTW... as you know I have been intrigued by the Progress and promised myself to purchase one after Christmas. So... I have a Progress in route. I can't wait to shave with it.

Thursday, December 27, 2012 SOTD
Razor: Merkur 37G
Blade: Polsilver Super Iridium
Cream: Taylor of Old Bond Street Sandalwood
Brush: Semogue SOC
Dessert: Ice cube rub, refrigerated witch hazel
I had a relaxing & magical face (sink) & dome (shower) shave. The Merkur slant razors are great performers. They are super efficient. Mike.....I wanted to say that I just purchased the Cella and I look forward to my 1st Cella test drive when it arrives.

Yesterday's shave, at the sink:
Edwin Jagger DE89L razor with my Vulfix brush
Shave soap: Cella!!!
Blade: Feather
Exfoliator: BeeBald Clean (in the shower on head and face)
Post shave: BeeBald Smooth on the head
Clubman Pinaud on the face and neck to finish up
This is my current favorite combination for shaving. I love the Feather blade and the Cella. Two of my favorite products. I had a MOST excellent shave yesterday!!

Had a nice shave just now. Post shower at the sink!
34C
Gillette Yellow 7O'Clock
TGN brush
And Proraso
It was a decent shave 2nd and 3rd passes the later was a little light so I ended up with a super close shave but with a few nicks.
I finished up with the Alum block and Witchhazel. Then used a bit of GFT Skin Food (Lemon and Lime) to bring back a bit of hydration.
Head shave was pre-shower at the sink.
HeadBlade Sport
And Head slick.
Finished with the Witchhazel and Skin Food after the shower.
Squeaky Clean

Hello fellow chrome domes. Just wanted to say that I am enjoying all your SOTD entries. I hope all your shaves are BBS. For those on the DE or SE fence.... let us know if we can help. Yesterday's New Year's Eve SOTD was a very relaxing BBS face (sink) & dome (shower) shave.
I just recently purchased a Merkur Progress from a good friend. Yesterday I had my 2nd test drive with the Progress. It is an adjustable DE razor. With it being an adjustable... I am having fun trying to find a perfect setting. The Progress has a #1-#5 setting. So far...I am liking it dialed on #4. This razor has some heft and fits perfect in my hand. I love it's feel.
Razor: Merkur Progress
Blade: Astra SP
Soap: Mike's Natural Soap (Lemongrass)
Brush: Semogue 620
Dessert: Ice cube rub, refrigerated witch hazel

Sounds good Warkawk!
I really want a new adjustable, just need to convince SWMBO that I 'need' more DE's!

Glad you're enjoying the progress Warhawk!
Couple of new items for me today, the razor and soap:
Razor: Bakelite slant from italianbarber
Blade: Polsilver
Soap: Razorock sandalwood
Brush: Semogue 1305
Dessert: alum block, rinse, witch hazel, Razorock wax
The razor is lighter than any other razors, so a little pressure was needed. Still, a gloriously pleasurable shave as usual!

This was my first time shaving with a razor I had completely honed myself, from setting the bevel right through to getting it shave ready, or at least what I thought was shave ready. I have a proper shave ready straight on the way from Whipped Dog to compare my work to, but I don't think I was a million miles away. Apologies for the rushed and somewhat poor photo!
Razor: Boker 11/16 full hollow
Brush: omega boar
Soap: Razorock Cumba Cheech
Dessert: witch hazel and Boots Freshwood balm (UK members I can't recommend this highly enough! Cheap but outstanding!)
One pass with straight, finished with Progress. I'm definitely climbing on the straight razor train!

Wow.... Honing your own straight warns you like a thousand points on the man card!
I am very jealous.!

Yesterday's shave, at the sink (face only):
Edwin Jagger DE89L razor with my Vulfix brush
Shave soap: RazoRock Fresco
Blade: Polisilver
Exfoliator: BeeBald Clean (in the shower on head and face)
Post shave: BeeBald Smooth on the head
Nivea Extreme After Shave Balm - Cool Kick
Outstanding shave with this combination. Now that I've used the RazoRock Fresco a few times, I'll post up a review later today or tomorrow.
